Having been a topper in all my unit tests how should I prepare further for my anna university "first semester" exam to get a cgpa of 10?

Having mentioned that you are a topper in all the unit tests, getting a CGPA of more than 9 would be an easy task for you. Having 20 marks in all your internals would be even more beneficial.

To get a CGPA of 10 is possible, in your first year. Here are some things you should keep in mind for your preparation.

  • Utilize study holidays effectively – For the first semester examinations, the gap between them maybe a day or two. You have to complete the syllabus in the 10 to 15 days of study holidays. Make sure to revise every important portion the day before the exam.
  • Engineering Graphics – Practice more drawings and present the diagrams clearly and neatly. It is a 4 credit paper.
  • Engineering Mathematics – Do not just read the problems, work them out then and there. This will make you confident on the day of your exam.
  • Engineering Physics and Chemistry – The physics and chemistry papers are much easier compared to the class 12th syllabus. Study the textbook thoroughly. Understand the concepts. Present the answers with diagrams wherever necessary. Instead of writing long paragraphs, use points.
  • Technical English – Focus on the grammar first, Examiners tend to read that part fully while evaluating. So try getting full marks in that part which creates a good impression. That might help to get more marks in the forthcoming sections.

Presentation is one of the most important aspects. While writing use blue or black pens. Write answers in points and use Sub-headings. Try to keep your answer sheet neat and tidy and avoid unnecessary scribbling.

Which university is better for aerospace engineering - SRM, Anna, or Madras Institutes of Technology, or Hindustan University?

SG
Siddant Gupta Posted On : July 19th, 2022

Madras Institute of Technology is under Anna University. These two aren’t separate. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages, after completing your degree, MIT isn’t a good option. Not many core companies visit the campus drive for recruitment. Although placements in the non-core sector are good. MIT offers good academics and you can benefit from the institute if you are aiming to pursue higher studies. The course fee is nominal. The course costs around INR 1.58 lakhs.

SRM is a good option if infrastructure is your priority. Although the university fees are a little higher.

Is Madras Institute of Technology also considered as Anna University? Are CEG and MIT differentiated in terms of the brand value of Anna University?

YS
Yashaswi Singh Posted On : December 16th, 2022
BE in Manufacturing, College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2016)

Yes, MIT is a part of Anna University, despite the fact that, unlike the other three, it is not physically located on the university campus (CEG, ACT, and SAP).

Regarding the second question, there is no discrimination at Anna University as a whole because each student from each of the four campuses is treated equally, just as the NIRF does with Anna University. However, college is important when applying for jobs or for higher education, and a CEG student would unquestionably be a more desirable candidate because CEG is more prestigious and was the first to be established.

However, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, a distinguished alumnus of MIT, is the reason for its greater fame.

How do I calculate GPA and CGPA for Anna university engineering exam semester results?

KA
Karthik Ashwin Posted On : October 5th, 2021
Completed Ph.D from Anna University in 2020

You can calculate your GPA for Anna University by adding the grade credit points of various subjects and divide it by total credits for the semester. This will give you the GPA. The grade point for S is 10, A is 9, B is 8, and so on.

GPA= [(Subject 1* Credit 1) + (Subject 2* Credit 2) +...+(Subject n* Credit n)] / (Credit 1+...+ Credit n)

Let’s say you have 5 subjects with 3 credits each and you got 8, 7, 9, 9, and 7 in these subjects.

[(8*3 + 7*3 + 9*3 + 9*3 + 7*3)] / 15.

123/15 = 8.5 GPA

If you want to calculate your CGPA, repeat the above process for all your semesters and you will have your CGPA.
