RS
Radhika Sharma Posted On : September 16th, 2023
Studied at Hindustan University (2020)

Hindustan University is an excellent platform for your growth and development. Apart from providing you with a degree, it will also ensure that you become a skilled engineer.

  • Faculty- The faculty is mostly supportive. They will encourage you to take up projects, and not be stuck with just textbook learning. There are mostly young teachers.
  • Innovation Cell- There is an innovation cell at the University that encourages innovative ideas within the students. Since its inception, the college has witnessed around five new startups. Events are hosted regularly by this cell, and distinguished speakers are invited. They will help you grab internships, regardless of which year you belong to.
  • Hostel- Hostel facilities are a bit lacking. The mess food takes some time to get used to.
  • Extracurriculars- The university has five horses which take part in competitions regularly. Horse riding classes are held at 6 in the morning. Apart from hostel facilities, every other facility is good, and at par with what has been mentioned in the university website.

Hindustan University is mainly known for three branches- Mechanical, Aerospace and Aeronautical. The university is good and you can definitely consider it for your studies.

SS
Shantanu Sethi Posted On : September 13th, 2021
Studied BA.LLB (Hons.) from NALSAR University of Law,Hyderabad (2019)

Following are a few tips to prepare yourself for the exam:

  • It is advised to practice as many mock tests as possible within the time limit. Don’t spend more than 5 minutes on each question.
  • CLAT is not about knowing or learning everything. The exam expects you to think logically and comprehend the topics.
  • Solve the papers and analyze your weaknesses and strengths.
  • Find a good friend to study with and give tests together. Read the news daily and give oral quizzes with each other.
  • Stay positive and maintain a positive belief. Maintain a healthy competition with yourself daily.

2 months are enough to prepare for the exam and sharpen your skills. A lot of it also depends on inherent abilities, if you have a high IQ, a reasonably good aptitude for cracking logical puzzles, and are fairly good at the English language.

Which is better for studying architecture in India: SPA Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, or IIT Roorkee?

A
Admin Posted On : July 3rd, 2024

It is better to choose a college with an IIT tag because it will give you security regarding placements. IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee both have a good placement record, and their IIT tag makes them a better choice for Architecture students.

  • The NIRF 2023 Ranking in Architecture of IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur is 1st and 3rd respectively, whereas the ranking of SPA Delhi is 5th.
  • IITs offer a lot of facilities which aren’t offered by other top architecture colleges in India. They have extensive libraries, best sports facilities, clubs and societies, etc. If you like extracurriculars as much as studies, IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP will provide you with world-class facilities for the same.
  • Apart from design and architecture, you’ll be able to study a host of other subjects and varied electives at IIT R and IIT KGP. This will place you in a much better position academically.
  • Many new professors have joined the Architecture department at IIT Roorkee in the past few years. They are young and have a modern perspective which resonates with today’s youth.
  • IIT Roorkee has the best and the biggest hostels compared to any other college, and everyone can avail a single room for the entire course duration. Every hostel room at IIT Roorkee has access to the fastest internet speed through LAN, without any limitations.

Here is a comparison between SPA Delhi, IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur:

PARTICULARS IIT ROORKEE IIT KHARAGPUR SPA DELHI
NIRF 2023 Architecture Ranking 1 3 5
India Today Architecture Ranking 2023 2 1 4
Placement Percentage (B.Arch) 90% 71% 77%
Average Package (B.Arch) INR 18.34 LPA INR 16 LPA INR 7.2 LPA

After considering all the factors, I would suggest you choose IIT Roorkee for your B.Arch. The next best option would be IIT Kharagpur.

What is the problem with IIT Jodhpur?

Namrata Das Posted On : July 27th, 2023

I think the major problem that IIT Jodhpur faces is its locational disadvantages. It lacks facilities like flight connectivity with other metros and this directly affects the number and quality of MNCs that visit during placements.

Another problem that IIT Jodhpur students face is the long distance between hostels and college as they have to spend a lot of money traveling between campus and hostels. IIT Jodhpur also lacks in terms of academia and industrial ties again because of its poor location. However, the Mechanical engineering department has started several industry immersion programs so exposure is not an issue for them.

How is NIT Kurukshetra for girls?

HV
Himanshu Varshney Posted On : September 2nd, 2023
B.Tech from Delhi IIT (2019)

One of my female friends is a student at NIT Kurukshetra. She realized that the world is a patriarchal society. The rules and regulations at NIT Kurukshetra too seemed to agree with this. The girls have to follow a strict hostel time of around 7 PM in winter and 8 30 in summer. For the boys, the same time is 10 pm. Also, they don't have to fill out a form every time they want to go out. Girls are not even allowed to roam freely late at night or access the 24/7 CCN, the library, or other things boys have access to.

Girls are not allowed to order food after 10 p.m. They are asked to change their clothes when wearing shorts or capris. The girls are not allowed to stay late and attend events like Star Night or any of the college band performances while the boys can stay for the rest of the performance.

My friend found no equality with her male counterparts at NIT Kurukshetra. There are many other instances where acts of discrimination have occurred. My friend feels that equality should start from an educational institute and only then can it extend outside.

So if you are a girl, and are planning to come to NIT Kurukshetra, you should be prepared for similar instances of gender discrimination. On the bright side, it will teach you how to deal with patriarchy outside college better because isn't the situation similar everywhere?

Is mechanical engineering good in NIT Surathkal?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 15th, 2023

As a B.Tech Mechanical Engineering student at NITK, I am sharing some facts about my department-

  • Faculty- The Mechanical faculty is strict. However, when approached for guidance, the teachers don’t hesitate in showing their support for students.

One of my friends wanted to work at the IITs. He told one of the professors about the same. The teacher mailed an IIT Hyderabad professor and arranged for my friend to work with him. My friend also wrote a conference paper under the same IIT Hyderabad professor.

  • Placements- The placements are good for the Mechanical department. The batch strength for B.Tech is around 150 students, even then, around 90% are placed during campus placements.
  • Labs and Workshops- The department offers several labs, like Strength of Materials lab, Fluids lab, Fuels lab, Pyrolysis lab, IC Engines lab, etc.

Several workshops are organized by the department, like Metal fitting workshop, Carpentry workshop, Lathe machine workshop, etc. The campus also offers virtual labs, which are present in some IITs and NIT Surathkal only.

Apart from these UG labs, there are several PG labs as well. UG and PG students can also work with each other.

  • Extracurricular activities- Apart from your academics, you can join various clubs at NITK. Some of these are- FSAE Racing club, BAJA Racing club, IEEE, IE, Rotaract, Artist forum, Photography club, etc.
  • Library- The central library contains lots of reference books and articles.

Overall, the Mechanical department of NIT Surathkal is quite good. In fact, NITK is known for its CS, Mining and Mechanical studies.

Is nit warangal good for mba?

SS
Shivani Singh Posted On : September 6th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (2019)

NIT Warangal is mainly oriented towards the courses BTech, MTech, and MCA. This institute is not good for MBAs. It is better to opt for institutes like IIMs, Symbiosis, ISB, etc. to get more exposure to the subject. So do not opt for NIT Warangal if you have better options in hand.
