How hard did you prepare for the AFMC Pune? What were your struggles? Did you get it?

AG
Akriti Gupta Posted On : September 22nd, 2023
lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

One of my friends recently got admission in AFMC Pune and surprisingly enough she claims that she never prepared for her college purposely. In fact, it was only after clearing the cutoff for screening that she decided to actually consider getting admission. The only trick that helped her was that she focused only on preparing for NEET initially and did not worry about the screening. The trust is, that the screening process is rather unpredictable and not much can be prepared in a short span of time. So it’s better to invest your efforts and energy in something that is completely in your control. Once you clear NEET, you can start preparing for screening also.

Hope this helps you!

Which is the best NIT in India? How is MNIT Jaipur?

Sabeer Chalana Posted On : October 10th, 2023

Though not one of the top 3, MNIT Jaipur has always been among the top 5-7 NITs of India. Its infrastructure underwent massive improvement post-2015. At present its infrastructure is top-notch, and at par with other renowned IITs and NITs.

The mess offers purely vegetarian meals, and the hostels are filled with all the necessary facilities. The college is located in the center of Jaipur city.

MNIT witnesses decent placements in all departments. The alumni network is strong and extensive. Alumni from this college are present in almost every sector and at every level.

I can’t claim any NIT as the best in India. But I can assure you that MNIT Jaipur is a really good college, and you won’t regret joining it.

Is it better to join NIT Trichy or IIT Bhubaneswar?

A
Admin Posted On : June 22nd, 2023

For a branch like CSE, choosing between IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Trichy is a bit tricky. Both offer good placements and are equally good colleges. But if you want an IIT tag (which does hold more weight than an NIT tag), you should go for IIT Bhubaneswar.

If you want to pursue your higher studies abroad, go for an IIT tag blindly because the IIT brand is well-recognized abroad. So, consider what you wish to do after your graduation and make your decision accordingly.

But, in general, as NIT Trichy is older than IIT Bhubaneswar, you should choose based on the branch that you get at each. If you get CSE/EE at NIT Trichy and another branch at IIT Bhubaneswar that will not get you as good a package, go for NIT Trichy.

These are the placement figures for IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Trichy-

Placement Statistics

NIT Trichy (2022)

No. of companies visited

43

Total number of students placed

81+

Highest Package

INR 40 LPA

Top Recruiters

HCL, Godrej, Wipro, Google, Adani

Placement Statistics

IIT Bhubaneswar (2023)

IIT Bhubaneswar (2022)

Highest Package

INR 55.75 LPA

INR 44.1P LPA

Average Package

INR 17.68 LPA

INR 18.95 LPA

Top Recruiters

Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart

Amazon, BYJU’s, Gojek, Unacademy, Mathworks, Goldman Sachs

Some people do consider NIT Trichy as a superior option because it is older while IIT Bhubaneswar is a newer IIT. IIT Bhubaneswar is at the 47th rank while NIT Trichy is at the 9th rank in the NIRF India Rankings 2023: Engineering.

How good is NIT Patna campus?

Sapna Malik updated Posted On : August 29th, 2023

NIT Patna has a very small campus that spreads across 35 acres. The campus is undergoing major renovations and construction so you can expect a better-facilitated campus in the future.

One of my friends was very disappointed when he got into NIT Patna mainly because of its infrastructure. But soon he made friends and started seeing the positive side of the institute. He realized that infrastructure does not matter much, the crowd, faculty, and ambiance is what make or break a college. The institute is home to some of the most talented individuals in the country.

So, don’t judge a college merely on the basis of its infrastructure and campus size. There is more than the eyes can see!

How good is NIT Patna for CSE? Did anyone get a seat in NIT Patna?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : August 31st, 2023

One of my friends got a seat in NIT Patna and shared the experience of his first year spent there

  • Campus : The NIT Patna campus is tiny around 45 acres only. However, the campus has all basic facilities like a canteen, Nescafe spot, playground, basketball court, and an ATM.
  • Academics : The academic ambiance is not very rigorous as all the students are busy with different activities like coding, playing games, gym and sports, preparations for competitive exams, etc As a result studies are given the least preference here.
  • Faculty : The professors aren't interested in teaching at all and no kind of research work is encouraged by them.
  • Competitive exams: NIT Patna has a culture that promotes the preparation of Civil services exams and other competitive exams.
  • Placements : NIT Patna Placements 2023 is in progress. Till now, 120+ recruiters participated in the placement drive & placed 609 students. NIT Patna's highest package stood at INR 52 LPA whereas NIT Patna's average package stood at INR 14 LPA. Some of the participating top recruiters included ONGC, Bharat Electronics, Google, etc.
  • Campus life: NIT Patna’s annual techno-cultural fests Corona and Melange are held at a decent level. The institute has provisions for all kinds of indoor and outdoor sports.
  • Hostels: Boys are allotted double occupancy rooms while girls are offered quad sharing is there. The girl's hostel is within the campus and the boys' hostel is at 2 2-minute walking distance.

Overall, NIT Patna offers an average campus life and opportunities.

You have heard it right. IIM Rohtak does not have the cap around anymore. You will have to apply separately for this college. It might cost about INR 2000 for the form. The college also does not have any sectional cutoffs either.

  • For the General category, it is about 95%,
  • 90% for EWS and
  • 78% for OBC NC.

As far as salaries are concerned, the highest is INR 24 lakhs per annum and the average is INR 13.70 lakhs per annum. The average salary for the college has increased from INR 11.85 lakhs which was the case last year.

Should I go for electrical engineering at NIT Kurukshetra?

SS
Savi Sharma Posted On : September 1st, 2023

NIT Kurukshetra is a good college which gives you the freedom to explore and develop your personality.

If you are interested in the electrical branch, NIT Kurukshetra is a good option. But I must warn you that you’ll find yourself busier than the students of other branches. This is because electrical students have to make a lot of practical files.

The faculty for EE is helpful and supportive. The placements are also decent. The package range was INR 4.00 LPA - INR 1.25 CPA, the median package was INR 7.90 LPA, and the average package was INR 12.37 LPA for the electrical branch, during 2022 placements.

NIT Kurukshetra is a nurturing place but ultimately the hard work and effort is all expected from you. No one will push you to get out of your comfort zone, that’ll be your task.

What are the disadvantages of IIT Jodhpur?

Sayantani Barman Posted On : July 27th, 2023

Every coin has 2 sides and likewise, every college has its strengths and weaknesses. IIT Jodhpur no doubt is a great institute offering excellent placement opportunities, startup encouragement, the IIT tag, and high-quality education but it has its own sets of demerits that affect its overall reputation. Here are a few of them

  • IIT Jodhpur has a very small batch size which minimizes exposure. Only a handful of students are interested in productive stuff and most of them just are here for fun
  • Despite being a technical institute, IIT Jodhpur prioritizes cultural activities a lot and the most influential people are from cultural backgrounds. Fewer students are attracted to technical societies and more importance is given to cultural fests.
  • IIT Jodhpur ranks even lower than some NITs because of the poor research culture it has.
  • IIT Jodhpur is certainly lacking in terms of infrastructure. It has no well-developed market, enough canteens, and dining halls.
  • The institute has an 85% attendance rule with no proxy.
  • IIT Jodhpur has a poor faculty-to-student ratio.

Individually these demerits are not very major, but as a whole, these affect the overall learning experience to a great extent.

How much time does it take to get a degree certificate from Kerala University?

NS
Nirali Singh, Posted On : November 15th, 2021
B.Tech from University of Kerala (2017)

Getting a B.Tech degree certificate from Kerala University, might take around 3 months. But if it is urgent, you could submit the application form along with a request stating your urgency.

Firstly you need to apply for a provisional certificate. Once you get that, you can apply for the original degree certificate along with the copies of the provisional certificate, mark sheets, and challan (original) to the concerned section or COE.

After verification, you will get the degree certificate within 3-6 months. It will be delivered via registered post.

This could sometimes vary as it depends on the person handling your college. If he wishes he could speed up the process.
