One of my close friends was a student at MNIT Jaipur and told me about the reality of the institute that is not known to many. The worst part, he claimed, was the poorly structured curriculum of the first year that hardly had any CS subjects. He was taught Engineering Design, Mechanical Fundamentals, Electrical Fundamentals, Electronics communications, and Chemistry but had no relation whatsoever with the field he was interested in.
It was only after the 6th semester that CS subjects like JAVA, Web Development, App Development, and Machine Learning were introduced. Again, the focus is only on theoretical knowledge, and no practical skills are imparted to the students.
I feel the college should make some amendments to improve the academics like students should be given more freedom to choose subjects and the compulsory attendance rule should be removed
Overall, I feel MNIT Jaipur is not the right place if you are genuinely passionate about coding. Go for this college only if your focus is to get placed.

As per the new R-09 and R-13 regulations, JNTUH students won't be getting a distinction for each and every subject. Once their 4th-year 2nd Semester results are out, a Consolidated Marks Memo(CMM) will be issued to them. This CMM includes all their semesters' subjects and respective marks. This Memo will also include the marks of the 2 excluded subjects, the marks of which will not be included in the final result.
In JNTUH, calculating your grade is quite easy. Grades are calculated on the basis of the percentage calculated on the score that you have secured in all the semesters combined to the total mark of 5250. Students are graded as follows
This process continues further for subsequent percentages.
However, the procedure might be different if you are following the R-16 regulations. Under the new grading system, you can check your Subject Performance Standards like Outstanding, Excellent, etc. You can also see this SGPA which stands for Sessional/Semester Grade Point Average which can be converted in percentage format. Additionally, there will be a CGPA which is calculated as such
CGPA=(SGPA1+SGPA2+.....+of all semester)/(SCP1+SCP2+.....+of all semesters)
Here, SCP stands for Sessional/Semester Credit Points set to all subjects. Overall, students getting 6.95 and above in their CGPA/OGPA, will be given distinction along with First Class, O, A+, A, any other grade, etc.
Here are some of the must-have experiences at IISc Bangalore that a student of the institute should never miss.
These experiences are personal and you might discover new experiences too!
Here is the step-by-step process to obtain a migration certificate from BPUT
You are likely to receive the migration certificate within a few days. I think it’s difficult to get the certificate immediately but you can try coming to BPUT Rourkela once your application form has been signed by your college authority. Meet the concerned officer here and ask if they can get your work done right away. If you are lucky, you might as well get the certificate on the spot.
No, BITS Pilani is not better than IIT kharagpur. IIT Kharagpur is a government institute established in 1951. It is older as compared to BITS Pilani.
No doubt BITS Pilani is also a good college, but IIT KGP clearly has an edge over it. Both of these institutes can be compared on few parameters as discussed below-
Based on these factors, I would recommend you choose IIT KGP. But even BITS Pilani is an excellent institution.
Honestly being in the first year at IIT is too early to be clueless. In the future, you will face hundreds of circumstances where you will feel clueless so don’t ruin your college life feeling clueless when you have so much to do.
I will suggest you not waste time looking for clues but rather make the most of your precious time at IIT. Explore your abilities and look for your passions and keep learning new things.
Honestly speaking, if you are passionate about Aerospace, I suggest you opt for IIT Kanpur rather than IIT Bombay. The following points support my inclination toward IIT Kanpur for Aerospace.
However, if you are not into Aerospace and are just interested in placements, you should put extra effort into coding, Data Structures or ML, and Python and can consider IIT Bombay as a good choice.
It will be difficult to get an NIT Seat with a 15000 OBC rank in JEE Main. You may get NITs like Agartala or Silchar, during the last rounds of counseling. Whether you will get a seat or not will depend on the competition of that year and the cutoff trends. You may apply for the counseling and wait till the spot round admission.
One of my friends has graduated from RGPV main campus. He told me how irresponsible the staff is. He had to stay in the college for more than 2 years although the duration of his course was 2 years. This happened because of the college's inability to complete the course on time.
This delay is the fault of the administration, staff and faculty as a whole. Many students suffer because of their inefficiency and slow tactics. The highest and oldest officials of the college have strong political relations because of which the danger to their job is minimal.
The college is slow when it comes to taking action to any kind of request. Getting a degree is a mighty task here. If you still haven’t got it, contact the administrative department frequently.
