NIT Patna ECE placements are great and the packages offered are high. Moreover, the institute is located in the center of the city so you have access to all kinds of coaching institutes for preparation of competitive exams like GATE and IES. The reason I won’t suggest you go for Production Engineering is ve age of its limited scope in the country.

Ultimately the choice depends on your inclinations.

What is your review about NIT trichy electronics and communication branch?

VS
Vaani Singh Posted On : July 26th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India

I am currently studying ECE at NIT Trichy. So far, I’ve had an amazing experience. During the first two years, you will deal with Core Electronics. In the first year, every branch studies the same subjects to brush up on concepts learned in senior classes at school. The next two years deal with the Communication part. You will get to choose electives from various options like image processing, etc.

All the branches are equally good and each offers ample opportunities in terms of scholarships. The ECE branch has a very good reputation and the faculty is quite good. Some teachers can even teach more than two subjects with subjects ranging from Digital Electronics to Signal Processing and Data Structures (elective). NIT Trichy follows a Relative Grading System (RG).

Thus, the NIT Trichy ECE branch is a great choice.

How is ECE at IIT Dhanbad?

RP
Roohi Pal Posted On : October 12th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad (2020)

As a B.Tech ECE student at IIT Dhanbad, I can give you some insight on this course.

The ECE faculty consists of a handful of professors who are genuinely interested in this branch. You’ll get to study from them in the last 3-4 semesters. The rest won’t teach or guide you much.

Only the top performers get placed in core companies. Most of the recruitments are made by IT and software firms. For those jobs, you must learn good enough coding to be able to compete with fellow CSE students. Pursue ECE only if you have an interest in Electronics, Semiconductors and Communications Systems.

These are some details about B.Tech ECE at IIT Dhanbad. Pursue B.Tech ECE only if it aligns with your goals and aspirations.

I am a 1st year student of ECE in NIT Jamshedpur. Apart from maintaining good grades what can I do to ensure me a job with salary of 10-14 lakhs p.a?

SS

B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (2020)

If you are looking for a high-paying package around 10-14 LPA, you need to consider your future perspectives first. As an ECE student here are some career options you can opt for

One should look for a balance between salary and work culture. I will suggest you prepare for the MNC industries of Silicon Valley (Private Core Sector), i.e. Qualcomm, Intel, etc. This is the best choice for an ECE student where you will learn and work with great minds. They offer lucrative packages too. Here is how you can prepare for such companies

To prepare for your interviews, one needs to have deep knowledge of whatever you study for your end-semester examinations.

  • Private Core Sector: This is the most challenging option and the salary package varies from company to company. You will have to work extra hard to excel here.
  • IT sector:  India is one of the biggest hubs of IT industries in the world, and you have immense opportunities in this sector. The salary packages offered by IT companies are also quite good.
  • PSUs:  First you will have to prepare for GATE. The government sector offers excellent packages with many additional benefits but your development rate here is nill. If money is your only concern then this one is for you.
  • Finance/Stock/Management: Go for these options if you have an interest in these fields.
  • Inculcate excellent Programming skills not for just coding jobs but also for learning machine language and the concepts of the origin of coding
  • Master the designing of Analog and Digital circuits
  • Learn the Architecture of Computer, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers.
  • Understand VLSI thoroughly as it is the most important thing to design electronics circuits and is mostly asked in interviews
  • Attend the Robotics workshop and competitions, it will enhance your practical knowledge.
  • Try to get internships/projects related to such fields. You can always check and drop mail into the career section of the company’s website.
  • Maintain good grades because that is how companies shortlist you.

To prepare for your interviews, one needs to have deep knowledge of whatever you study for your end-semester examinations.

Which branch should I take in NIT Silchar mechanical or ECE?

MR
Moitrayi Roy Posted On : August 25th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology Silchar

In my opinion, you alone can decide the best branch for yourself and others can only guide you. If you are evaluating and comparing branches based on placements, then trust me it won’t help in the long run. Unless you are genuinely interested in the branch, you won’t be able to pursue a career in it for a long time.

Mechanical

  • If you are inclined towards stuff like automobiles, heavy machinery, or design, or want to work in a good PSU then choose Mechanical.
  • One needs to be aware of the fact that this branch is completely core-based so you will be studying only core concepts for 4 years.
  • The placements of core mechanical are quite better than ECE.
  • Students of the Mechanical branch can go for Mechanical-related jobs only and most software companies won't allow Mechanical students to sit for their placements.
  • Mechanical has more PSU placements but Mechanical has much higher and tougher competition compared to ECE.

ECE

  • If you are interested in small electronic devices, Arduino, IoT, Integrated circuits and diodes, fabrications, and chip design, or want to pursue a career in coding and programming then you should go for ECE.
  • This branch is a mix of core ECE and software/IT, i.e. ECE's major role will be played by software only during placements.
  • ECE core can be helpful if you want to pursue higher education.

So, make sure you go for the branch that intrigues you and not the one that offers better placements.

How is NIT kurukshetra for Electrical Engineering?

SR
Sumit Roy Posted On : September 2nd, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra

The Department of Electrical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra is considered quite decent because of the numerous opportunities it offers

  • The EE department of NIT Kurukshetra has some of the best faculty members like Mr. Yash Pal who teaches Electrical Machines and Mr. Nakka who teaches Power Electronics.
  • The Department of EE has amazing infrastructure and its labs are equipped with all modern instruments. In fact, NIT Jalandhar visits the campus every year because they don’t have labs like the electric drives lab, etc.
  • The EE course is much similar to EEE thereby offering a wider range of opportunities
  • Students in the 7th semester have to choose 1 departmental elective out of Power Systems, Information and Control, and Computer Applications. So you can study a subject of your choice in case you fail to upgrade your branch.
  • PSUs have started recruiting directly from colleges apart from GATE so chances of getting decently placed have increased.

Here is the placement statistics for the UG course offered by the EE department

Eligible Students

123

Placement Offers

128

Students Placed

107

Placement %

86.99%

Range of Package

INR 4.00 LPA - INR 1.25 CPA

Median CTC

INR 7.9 LPA

Average CTC

INR 12.37 LPA

Ultimately everyone gets placed irrespective of the packages they receive. This year the highest package was offered to a student of this branch. So it’s definitely worth going for.

Which is better IIT Delhi EE or IIT Roorkee ECE?

AG
Ashish Gupta Posted On : April 10th, 2023
Lives in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India

Although many might not agree, I think ECE is much better than electrical engineering. People tend to choose IID mainly because of the brand name that comes attached to it. If the tag was to be negated, then by all terms IIT Roorkee is better than IIT Delhi’s Electrical Engineering.

Moreover, I feel Electrical has too much workload both in IIT Delhi as well as Roorkee. This does not save you time for extracurricular activities.

Delhi is one of the most polluted cities in India and does affect the overall educational experience of the students. Although my personal suggestion is to opt for IIT Roorkee ECE, it’s better to talk to students from both institutes and branches.

What should I prefer, IIIT Delhi for ECE or BITS Hyderabad for mechanical?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : October 7th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

I will suggest you consider your own interests first rather than the placement scenario. For this, you can go through the course structure of both branches. If you still are unable to determine the right choice for yourself, go through the following pros and cons of both institutes

IIIT Delhi

Pros:

  1. IIIT Delhi has a more Research-oriented curriculum and has an interdisciplinary approach to the curriculum.
  2. The packages offered are at par with most tier-1 colleges like DTU, NSUT, decent NITs, etc.
  3. The lab facilities are modern and top-notch

Cons

  1. IIIT Delhi has a very small campus.
  2. The college is relatively new so the alumni network is very weak.

BITS Pilani

Pros:

  1. Excellent noncore placements especially management/finance.
  2. The curriculum is very flexible and students of all branches get to choose minors in Data Science, Finance, Robotics, etc.
  3. The college has a huge brand name and alumni pool which adds credibility in promotions and pay grades.
  4. The college has the PS system, which gives every student 8 months (6+2) of internship in top companies solely based on your preference and CGPA.
  5. The institute has a very charming campus life

Cons:

  1. No compulsory attendance policy which might affect those who aren’t very self-motivated.
  2. A lot of participation in festivals and cultural events is required which although good, might affect your academics negatively.

Ultimately, choose what signs with your preferences.
