Which is a better option for EE, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Indore, or IIT Bhubaneswar?

SS
Shalini Sahu Posted On : March 30th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (2018)

Be it any branch, I would always choose IIT Bhubaneswar over 2nd generation IITs such as IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Indore. Let’s discuss the worth of IIT Bhubaneswar in terms of common aspects like

  • Academics: An easy way to judge the academic standards of an Institute is to compare the quality and quantity of research papers published. In these terms, IIT Bhubaneswar has an evident advantage over IIT Gandhinagar.
  • Faculty: Another major criteria are the faculty as they are responsible for publishing papers. In this aspect too Bhubaneswar has an upper hand as it has professors from IIT Kharagpur and Kanpur teaching in various departments in the institute. It also has foreign professors that provide the necessary exposure.
  • Sports: IIT Bhubaneswar owns this one as it is the first of the 2nd Gen IITs to be co-hosting the INTER-IIT sports meet in 2019. This fact in itself is a testament to the excellent infrastructural facilities.
  • Infrastructure: IIT Bhubaneswar has excellent sports as well as other facilities in the form of cricket, and football; courts for tennis, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis; gym facilities in both the girls' and boys' hostels and the new swimming pool.
  • Extracurricular: Several societies and councils are supported by the Institute that promotes extracurricular culture. The college has participated in the Inter-IIT cultural meet in various events such as music, drama, literature, debating, and also dance.
  • Hostel: The accommodation facilities are top notch with more than basic amenities such as Washing machines, water heaters, 24-hour water supply, and two common rooms with TVs for all the hostellers to watch exciting matches together. The hostel has 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities and is a great place to make friends.

IIT Bhubaneswar is an excellent place to create memories and enjoy a rich college experience.

Is Kakatiya University good for EEE?

KS
Kritika Sinha Posted On : September 23rd, 2022
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering & Fluid and Thermal Engineering, Kakatiya University

Kakatiya University isn’t a great option for EEE. The faculty-student ratio isn’t satisfactory. The departmental labs are average. You won’t receive decent placement and industry exposure. Although KU has taken some initiatives to make the placements better, there haven’t been any remarkable changes. Only mass recruiters such as TCS visit Kakatiya University placements to recruit EEE students.

Can I get EEE or ECE at MAIT? I got 67 percentile (Delhi Region)?

AC
Anindita Chakraborty Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi (2019)

Yes, with this percentile you will be able to get EEE or ECE at MAIT. You should be really interested in building your career in EEE or ECE as both of them are very different from each other and you will get to explore different career opportunities in both these fields. You should do in-depth research about both these branches and then make a final decision.

  • To get admission, you need to fill-up the form after qualifying your JEE mains, where you have to fill the choice of branch and college at each round and then wait till the end of each round.
  • There are no reserved seats or quota available and students get admission through spot rounds.
  • And if you don't get EEE or ECE, there is also an option for branch upgradation in the first semester, but for this, you need to score more than 80% marks in your semester-end exams.

Hence, you will be able to get a seat in EEE or ECE at MAIT, but need to wait till the last round of counseling, as there are no reserved seats or quota available for these branches.

  • Along with theoretical knowledge, practical coding sessions and hackathons are regularly organised to encourage students to develop an excellent grasp at programming.

Placement

NITK

  • The CSE branch has a placement rate of 100%.
  • 200+ companies took part in the recruitment drive with top recruiters being Amazon, IBM, Google, Accenture, etc.
  • Highest CTC offered was 84 LPA

  • NITK- Spread over 100 acre area, it is a very beautiful campus and has it’s very own private beach as well. It has state-of-art-infrastructure with modern smart classrooms and well equipped labs and sports facilities.
  • IIT Dharwad- It currently functions in a transit campus hence all facilities cannot be availed as of now but the proposed campus is supposed to be spread across 400 acres and full of ample opportunities for students. Electrical labs are an essential part of the course but since this is the transit campus, labs are not completely equipped.

NIT Surathkal or NITK is one of the premier engineering institutes of the country and has a strong alumni network and industry connect. Training sessions are even organised by industry giants like IBM, CoCubes. IIT Dharwad being a new institute needs time and resources to make its mark. Apart from this, computer science is the most sought after skill-set at present and attracts lucrative offers. Hence, students should make an informed choice according to their discretion.

Both EE at IGIT and IT at VSSUT have the same admission process through JEE mains followed by counseling and interview. IGIT has more seats for EE than for IT in VSSUT so maybe getting admissions in IGIT will be easy in comparison to VSSUT. The placement rate is also good for both universities.

Tabulated below shows the difference between both institutions:

Particulars

IGIT Sarang

VSSUT, Burla

Total course fee

2.89 lakhs

1.12 lakhs

Total seats available

120

60

Top recruiters

Ananda, Bhushan Steel, Infosys, Kanbay international, Larsen and Toubro, SATYAM COMPUTERS, TATA Consultancy Services

Aricent, Ashok Leyland, Bosch Ltd, Capgemini, CSC, Cummins, HP, Jindal Steel, Maruti Suzuki,

Average salary

4 lakhs

  • The average salary offered to students is 4 lakhs and the highest salary package is up to 10 lakhs.

VSSUT Burla

  • Companies like Aricent, Ashok Leyland, Bosch Ltd, Cap Gemini, CSC, Cummins, HP, Jindal Steel, Maruti Suzuki, and so on visit campus every year.
  • The average salary offered to students for this course is 3.6 lakhs and the highest package is up to 10 lakhs.

Infrastructure

IGIT Sarang

  • The infrastructure of the college is really good.
  • Classrooms are nice, the library is open to all, medical facilities and equipped labs are also available in college.
  • Teachers are well qualified in their particular fields.

VSSUT Burla

  • The infrastructure and facilities of this university are really good.
  • Air-conditioned classrooms, upgraded labs, medical facilities, sports facilities, gym, etc all available on campus.

Both the universities are good choices for the above courses. Both courses have the same admission process among universities.
