Will I be eligible for an MBA in A grade B schools like IIMs XLRI, NMIMS, JBIMS, etc., with scores of 90.6 in the 10th standard and 70 in the 12th standard?

As a candidate with a lower academic performance in the past, you are eligible for most of the business schools, except for a few, such as the Indian Institutes of Management in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, and Lucknow, which place a greater emphasis on previous academic records. However, XLRI is good news for you, as it does not consider your previous academics when shortlisting candidates. Additionally, SPJain may consider extending you a profile-based admission offer if your CAT score is at least 85 or higher and you have something unique in your profile. Other top business schools, such as NITIE Mumbai, MDI, and NMIMS, are easily within reach for you.

It is recommended that you focus on making the most of your current educational journey and not let your past academic performance impact your future opportunities. Aim to prepare well for the CAT exam, aiming for a top score, and accumulate as many quality resume points as possible to develop a unique and impressive profile for yourself. However, do not forget to live the life of an engineer, taking full advantage of your education. If you gain at least 2 years of work experience, you may consider taking the GMAT and applying to the Indian School of Business, which may consider extending you an admission offer.

The straight answer is no, you can’t. Also, there is no cutoff system, it all depends on which field you belong to. For example, average GMAT scores may be higher for Indian IT Male because of the competition but relatively less for say artists (Since the number of artists applying is lower).

However, you can check the proper admission procedure for various courses in ISB Hyderabad here.

There is no specific weightage for the essay in the Great Lakes Chennai PGPM process. However, it is generally considered to be an important part of the application process as it allows the admissions committee to gain a better understanding of the candidate's qualifications and goals.

If you are talking about IIIT-Allahabad, then the answer is Yes, it’s quite easy to take admission. All you need is either a decent JEE rank or a good GATE score.

  1. If you want to take admission in B.Tech, your rank should be between 4000 to 7000 depending on the specialization. If your rank falls in the given range, you will get admission easily.
  2. For admissions in M.Tech, you have to qualify GATE with a score of 500 and above, and it will be a cakewalk for you from there.
  3. If you want to take admission in Ph.D., you have to give the entrance exam and clear the coding round. Once you qualify for the test, you have to undergo some interview rounds and you will be selected.
  4. For admissions in i-Mtech i.e BTech and MTech integrated courses, your rank should be under 10K.
  5. For admissions in the MTech+Ph.d course, you have to qualify for GATE with a score of 533 and above.

If you have an appropriate rank, you are likely to get admission to IIIT Allahabad.

Is it good to join IIM Nagpur for a person with 3 years of experience earning around 8.5 PA?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 23rd, 2023
American Express, IIM Nagpur, NIT Surathkal

It depends on the individual's career aspirations and the options they have at their disposal. Many people left some of the big names with packages more than what has been stated, to come to IIM Nagpur. If one is looking from a short-term perspective, they may not gain much monetarily as IIM Nagpur is one of the newer IIMs. However, this does not mean that after completing a PGP, they will end up earning the same salary as their current one. It simply means not to expect the same coveted profiles of consultants that IIM ABC manages to secure for its students. The placement for the first batch of students has begun and it seems to be going well and is expected to improve in the future.

When it comes to the most important aspect, learning, and experience, studying at one of the IIMs ensures access to some of the best people as peers, with experience in different domains and industries. The opportunity to learn from the best faculty in the country, all of whom come from IIM A, is something that cannot be measured in monetary terms. The academic rigor and the knowledge gained here will differentiate one from others in the long run. The two 15-day Field Immersion Programs after the first and second terms are unique to IIM Nagpur, where students will get hands-on experience in solving problems of both government and non-government organizations, which will prove beneficial in the challenging corporate world. The program was proposed by IIM-A alumni when the program structure for IIM Nagpur was being drafted.

Finally, it is important to remember that there are many elements included in an MBA program and CTC is only one of them. One should not let their current or near-term CTC determine what they will gain from a PGPM from IIM Nagpur.

Can I get an admission in NIT Raipur CSE with 173 JEE MAINS score in general quota?

DV
Deepesh Verma Posted On : September 13th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Raipur

With a score of 173 in JEE Main, your rank will be somewhere near 22,000 (the ranks are declared after both attempts and increase accordingly). Your selection will depend on whether you belong to the home state or not.

I am listing down the JoSAA cutoff rank (round 6- 2023) for the CSE program at NIT Raipur-

QUOTA

SEAT TYPE

CLOSING RANK

HS

OPEN

22413

OS

OPEN

12773

Certain seats are female-reserved, for which the closing ranks are different. The cutoffs mentioned above belong to gender-neutral seats.

As is clear from the cutoff ranks, with a home state quota, there are chances for you to secure a seat in NIT Raipur B.Tech CSE. However, if you belong to some other state, it is not possible.

You can prepare well and try again, or seek some other good colleges for your B.Tech CSE.

The prerequisites stay the same but the competition changes. Taking admission as a freshman during the fall semester is more difficult, due to the huge number of applications.

The prerequisites for Florida State University international students' admission are as follows.

  • An impressive entrance essay.
  • Strong LORs.
  • High scores in standardized examinations like SAT/ACT (average SAT score  - 1250-1360, average ACT score - 28-31)
  • Valid proof of financial support.
  • As an international student, you will also need a valid IELTS or TOFEL score to prove your English proficiency.

Although they make exceptions, these are the general requirements for taking admission. They want to make sure that you are well-rounded and have a good moral character.

BIMTECH is one of the good MBA colleges situated in Delhi NCR which provides a highly supportive academic environment with interactive and a hard-working industry-academia mixed professors, closest to the strategy makers of the industry and workers of the service and manufacturing companies, and exposure to international universities and companies.

You can apply to BIMTECH for securing admission. 95 percentile is considered as a safe score, so there’s a high chance that you won’t get admission with 61 percentile in BIMTECH.
