The degree of difficulty of JEE MAIN varies every year. A great score one year may not be necessarily a great score next year. Some years paper is very easy and everyone gets high scores so the cutoff required also becomes high. The opposite is also true.

So what you can do is keep your focus on All India Ranks of JEE Mains and go through to the cutoffs as admission is based on that.

Here are the cutoff trends for Mechanical Engineering at NIT Surathkal in recent years.

SS
Sanjay Shrivastav Posted On : March 15th, 2023
PGPM in Information Management, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Graduated 2016)

If you have a strong academic record, relevant work experience and good performance in entrance exams such as CAT/XAT/GMAT and selection processes, your chances of getting into XLRI or SPJIMR could be higher. It's important to note that the competition for admission to these institutes is typically very high, so it's important to have backup options and apply to other institutes as well.

It's recommended that you research the specific admission criteria and selection process for XLRI and SPJIMR, and focus on preparing thoroughly for entrance exams and selection processes to increase your chances of admission. Additionally, you may consider seeking guidance from experts or mentors to help you navigate the application process.

What percentage do you usually need to get into the IIM Ahmedabad Bangalore and Kolkata?

Sayantani Barman Posted On : June 7th, 2023

CAT, academic achievement, job experience, and selection rounds are among the major determinants considered in IIM admissions. Shortlisting applicants for selection rounds is based on CAT scores.

IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata demand a minimum CAT percentile of 90 or above for admission.

IIMs demand a bachelor's degree with at least 50% or a similar CGPA. The higher the better the chance for conversion.

While a strong CAT score is necessary, scoring the minimal CAT percentile alone does not guarantee IIM admission. For admission, you need a good academic record, suitable professional experience, and good selection rounds.

What is the Amity University cutoff for a BCA in Gwalior?

TD
Tanya Dey Posted On : May 7th, 2021
Studied Journalism and Mass Communication & English Literature at Amity University, Gwalior (2019)

Firstly, there is no cutoff system to secure a seat at Amity University, Gwalior. Hence, there is no specific cutoff for getting admission to BCA at Amity. However, there are eligibility criteria with an entrance test which you need to clear in order to get admission.

  • You need to have a minimum of 60% aggregate in 10+2.
  • You need to qualify for the common aptitude test AMCAT which is basically an entrance test.
  • Interview with the concerned departments’ faculty.

Thus, make sure you have secured enough marks in your 10+2. If you meet this criterion, it's time to prepare well for the aptitude test which you need to pass in order to secure yourself a seat in the preferred field. Also, do not forget to prepare yourself for the interview as it’s the final step towards admission to Amity.

How much percentile I need to get into IIMs like Nagpur, Rohtak, Shillong, Kashipur if I am a General, male and Non engineer?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : May 10th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

IIMs consider several factors for admission which are academic performance, work experience, and performance in the Common Admission Test (CAT) to get a call. The cut-off percentile for admission in each IIM varies from year to year and it depends on factors like the number of applicants, the difficulty of the exam, and the availability of seats.

In general, non-engineer male candidates need to score above the 95 percentiles in the CAT exam to have a good chance of being shortlisted for the IIMs you have mentioned (Nagpur, Rohtak, Shillong, and Kashipur). It might change and you will need a lower percentile if you have some work experience, meeting the cut-off percentile does not guarantee admission, as the IIMs also consider other factors such as academic background, work experience, and performance in the personal interview and written ability test.

So, it's important to perform well in all the above factors mentioned in the admission process to increase your chances of getting into your desired IIM.

According to the qualification needed for M.Tech a student needs to qualify the GATE exam. A senior of mine was the first one in my knowledge to join M.Tech CS. She ranked within the top 300 in GATE electrical engineering.

Gradually mechanical and other core branches are also allowed to apply for M.Tech in CS. It is also mentioned in the GATE brochure of ISI Kolkata that graduates from other branches can apply to M.Tech in CS

Gradually a lot of my seniors applied for M.Tech in CS after completing their graduation. A survey says that major of the applicants for M.Tech in CS are from other branches like mechanical and core branches also.

I got 76% in 10th and 88% in 12th. Can I get admission in IIM Ahmedabad?

JS
Jyothi Sarode Posted On : May 10th, 2023

Admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is highly competitive, and there are multiple factors considered beyond just academic performance. While a high score in the 12th standard is certainly a positive factor, it alone does not guarantee admission. Also, try and score well in your graduation as well. So, for now, focus on your graduation and CAT preparations.

To get admission to IIM Ahmedabad, you will need to clear with a really high percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT), which is the entrance exam for IIMs and several other top B-schools in India. The CAT score is just one of the many parameters considered for admission, along with your academic performance, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in GD &PI.

So, if you perform well in the CAT exam and excel in other areas, you may have a chance of getting admission to IIM Ahmedabad.
