You have to wait till the final counseling takes place which is open for all. In the meantime, you should take admission in any branch you get there and wait for final counseling.
Taking into consideration that HBTI is now not taking admission through UPSEE the first option for students would be IET Lucknow.
Talking about the previous year's closing general rank in CSE was somewhat around 2600. So you can predict the answer to your question.
Check the cut off rank for IET Lucknow:
Branches | Opening & Closing Rank |
Chemical Engineering | 929-20821 |
Civil Engineering | 180-1260 |
Computer Science and Engineering | 2-120 |
Information Technology | 233-325 |
Mechanical Engineering | 424-1310 |
But you can also opt for EC, EE, EI, CE, and CHE as CS, IT, and ME may get filled earlier. In my opinion, you won't be getting any CSE seats on this rank in IET Lucknow.
The minimum GATE score to get admission to NITIE is different every year, but it is generally between 700-750 for all the branches. However, if you belong to any reserved category, your cutoff score could be less than the General category.
If your score is above the minimum score required, you will probably get a call for an interview. After receiving the call, you will have to appear for the GD-PI round. Your final selection and the allotment of the branch will depend upon your academic records and performance in the GD and PI round.
Hence, the GATE score required to get admission in NITIE is generally very high above 750, but all this is worth it because the college offers very good facilities and placement opportunities to ita students.
I have a few friends from NITIE so I can give you some information regarding admission to the institute. It accepts GATE scores for PGDIE, PGDMM, and PDPM courses. They shortlist students for GD-PI based on their GATE scores. The required cutoff for GATE varies every year, due to many variables. Here are the cutoff trends for 2021.
Category | GATE Cutoff |
General | 609 |
OBC | 473 |
SC | 345 |
ST | 317 |
Physically Disabled | 473 |
The GD-PI round will have 60% weightage for your final selection and the remaining 40% will include your GATE score, academic records, and your work experience if you have any.
Hence, the GATE cutoff for every branch in NITIE is the same but you will also have to perform very well in your GD/PI round to get admission.
FMS BHU is the best among all of these. There is no comparison with any other colleges.
However, if we look at NIT Trichy vs PUMBA, NIT Trichy seems to be a little better than PUMBA in terms of placements and their fee structure is almost the same.

Yes, it is possible to join NITIE by any of the GATE examinations streams. Few of my friends got admission at NITIE through GATE.
Admission to NITIE Mumbai through the GATE examinations from any stream of engineering will make you land up at NITIE in PGDIE – PG Diploma in Industrial Engineering.
There are two new courses available at NITIE, Mumbai: PGDPM – Project Management and PGDMM – Manufacturing Management. You can take admission to these courses through GATE too.
Coming to cut-offs, it varies from year to year. For this year the GATE cutoff score (general) was 609. If you feel you have a decent score and you'll get a GD, PI shortlist, and then you can convert it.
If you are willing to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering from NITIE Mumbai, then you must have a valid GATE score and 60% aggregate marks at graduation in Engineering/Technology.

NITIE considers CAT cut-offs for admission into its two courses: PGDIM and PGDISEM. The cut-off changes every year depending upon the difficulty level of the CAT examination. But, an average cut-off as per the past trends is below.
Category | PGDIM CAT Percentile | PGDISEM CAT Percentile |
General | 97 | 86 |
OBC | 75 | 75 |
SC/ST | 65 | 75 |
PwD | 75 | 65 |
The above percentiles are enough to fetch a call for the GDPI process of the final selection. But it does not guarantee admission as it also depends upon other factors like work experience, past academics, extra-curricular, gender diversity, and others.
Overall, the score should be high in CAT, as it is one of the important factors for admission.
NITIE Mumbai offers admission to its PGDIM and PGDISEM programs through the GATE exam. The selection process at NITIE Mumbai takes into account several factors such as GATE score, academic performance, work experience, and performance in the selection rounds (GD, PI, and WAT).
The GATE score is the primary factor that is considered for shortlisting candidates for the selection rounds. However, the cutoff GATE score for admission to NITIE Mumbai varies from year to year and also depends on the number of applicants and the availability of seats.
Based on previous year trends, a GATE score of 714 in Electrical Engineering (EE) is a good score, and you may have a decent chance of getting shortlisted for the selection rounds at NITIE Mumbai. However, admission to NITIE Mumbai is highly competitive, and several other factors will also be taken into consideration during the selection process.
It's also important to note that the selection process at NITIE Mumbai is dynamic, and the cutoff scores may vary from year to year. Therefore, it's best to keep an eye on the official website of NITIE Mumbai and stay updated on the admission process.
The minimum eligibility requirement for BSc. Biotech at an Indian college is having passed 10th and 12th with Physics, Biology/Maths and Chemistry as core subjects, and at least 50% overall (45% for SC, ST) and 60% in each of the core subjects in the 12th boards. Both PCM and PCB candidates can opt for BSc. Biotech.
Given that the eligibility criteria demands at least 50% in the 12th boards, it might not be possible for you to seek admission into BSc. Biotechnology at an Indian college.
But I would advise you to go through the eligibility criteria of some of the private colleges by visiting their official website.
Honestly speaking, with a rank of 71549 SC Category, there are zero chances of making it into any NITs. But if you hail from northeast states like Sikkim and Mizoram, the closing Rank for these NITs SCS category goes up to 10.5 lakhs under the home state(HS) quota. So admission to NITs is possible only if you belong to these states. Another option is to go for some private colleges/state government colleges that might grant admission on the basis of your JEE rank. Else, the last option is to take a drop year and score better next time.
