You can go for a BCA from IGNOU, if you are really interested in coding and you can learn through self-study. The classes are usually for doubt clearing. You will have to study the materials on your own. The faculties will clear your doubts through weekend classes. IGNOU BCA curriculum is designed according to the international level. The course work includes a lot of assignments, most of your semester will go into completing these. Although it’s a distance learning course, you will need to work hard to score decent marks.
If you heavily rely on the teacher then this course isn’t a good fit for you.
One of my friends was pursuing BCA from IGNOU. He shared that initially he did not take the course seriously. He believed that distance learning is extremely easy and does not require effort. But as per his experience, this course is no joke despite being distance learning. BCA is a technical or IT field. You can't just write anything and attain marks like many other subjects.
He further shared a few tips that might help you pass the IGNOU BCA exam:
You will have to start working hard right from your first year. Set your goal as 80-90%. Only then will you get around 50-60%.
Try to pass each and every subject in your first attempt.
Don't leave any questions unanswered in your exams.
Read study materials provided by IGNOU.
Solve the past 5-6 years' question papers thoroughly. This will be a big help.
If you follow the tips sincerely, you will get good marks in your BCA exams.
If you are considering pursuing a BCA program at BIT Mesra, there are some important factors to keep in mind. A few of them are mentioned below:
Here are some benefits of pursuing a BCA/MCA combination:
Pursuing a BCA program at BIT Mesra can provide you with a strong foundation in computer science and programming, and the program also has good placement opportunities. Consider the benefits of pursuing a BCA/MCA combination when deciding on your education and career path.
Ranging from sports to dancing, Amity provides a myriad of opportunities. A student can pursue any course; he/she has interest in.
The syllabus of BCA is the same in all recognised universities in India. Hence, any question regarding the faculty cannot be deduced. In addition, it depends on students how to make lectures productive and beneficial. However, BCA without a master’s degree is of no value. Therefore, for pursuing BCA, an institute is not that important. There is no entrance test for enrollment in BCA at Amity. Anyone having mathematics as one of the subjects in 12th can take admission in Amity.

As mentioned earlier, a Master’s degree is important for BCA. Nowadays, BCA is not that popular among Professional courses. Students prefer pursuing B.Tech than BCA. The placements in Amity Noida are somewhat good. However, getting through placements depends on academic record and performance in the interview. There is a specialised placement cell to help students with the interview process.
At last doing BCA from a particular institute does not matter. Because graduating with a master’s degree, like MCA will provide many placement opportunities.
My brother's friend completed his BCA from IGNOU. Recounting his experience, he told me that it was very difficult to adapt to the self-learning environment. He failed consecutively in all three semesters in the beginning. He was on the verge of giving up.
He realized that the study material provided by IGNOU is actually designed for self-study. He made notes, researched and practised a lot and he was able to complete both BCA and MCA. He said that it was self-study that helped me achieve my goal.
If you want to get good marks in IGNOU you have to focus on your self-study sessions more than anything.

VIPS:
Both colleges are IPU colleges. Between the two MSI is a much more preferred college for BCA. The college has a superior ranking across all rankings published and even provides much better placement offers. However, MSI has a higher cutoff between the two, if you get MSI that should be your first preference.
My cousin attended both colleges. He left BIT Mesra to join JECRC. Here is his insight for the institutes.
Comparison:
For CSE particularly, the preference order should be BIT Jaipur >> JECRC.
A friend of mine took the CET and scored 600 rank. She secured 87% marks in the board exams, but somehow she delayed the registration process for VIPS. She then took admission to JIMS Rohini after some donation.
JIMS Rohini is affiliated with IPU for its BCA program so you'll have to take the entrance exam for admission.
JIMS Rohini is a good college for BCA. One can expect a 15 lakh package at least after the training. You can find many good companies during the recruitment process, offering excellent packages. These include names like Deloitte, Godrej, TCS, Microsoft etc.
The campus is small but offers all essential services. The faculty is experienced and has the requisite knowledge of the fields they are teaching.
You will find that IMS, Ghaziabad is not just a place to get an education, but a place to become a better and more successful person. It is a great college for BCA.
According to one of my friends at VIPS, it is much better than Maharaja Surajmal. They both are affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). So essentially, the core study structure will be more or less similar at both institutes. But VIPS is known to have a better faculty, infrastructure, and placements.
Your first year at VIPS will go like a breeze with the smooth conduct of academics as well as extra-curricular activities.
