The hostel accommodation is pretty great at AIIMS Nagpur. It is equipped with all the basic amenities like beds, fans, lights, etc. The bathrooms and washrooms are well-designed. There is also a playing room.

These hostels have elevators, washing machines, iron rooms, water purifiers, and coolers. There is also a vending machine on the ground floor.

The security of the hostels is pretty good. There are guards on duty 24/7.

Do we get hostels right after we join NIT Raipur, and can parents stay at the guest house while attending for admission?

AS
Amandeep Singh Posted On : March 19th, 2021
B.Tech Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Raipur (2017)

There are several factors considered by NIT Raipur before allotting permanent hostels to students. The points below give a brief overview of the conditions and processes of hostel allotment in the institute.

  • During the initial days, every student can get a temporary hostel allotment. But, the selection of students for permanent hostel allotment is based on their score in the 11th and 12th classes.
  • The admission process is generally short, which does not need much time. So, the institute will not provide accommodation to parents.
  • In most cases, the institute does not provide any kind of accommodation during the admission process. So, own arrangements are required.
  • At most, 40% of students get a permanent hostel. Though the figure is quite less, it is not a problem to stay as there are several private hostels/pgs available in Kota, which are located behind the campus. There are several kinds of accommodation- single, 2 or 3 sharing basis, etc.
  • One of the major concerns staying in hostels is the quality and type of food available. It is difficult to adjust, especially for people from Southern states. Though this is a problem, students get used to the local food available.

These are some of the general concerns for students coming to NIT Raipur. Hope this helped to clear your doubts.

How is the hostel life in IIEST Shibpur?

AD
Anirban Dutta Posted On : May 21st, 2021
B.E. Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2019)

According to some of my friends who stayed in hostels, it is amazing. A diverse culture is experienced here. You make bonds for a lifetime. From preparing for exams one night before to discussing various miscellaneous topics to roaming in college to going for night outs, all the things are enjoyed by the students thoroughly. Also, the campus is filled with greenery that provides hostellers an edge to feel the freshness of nature.

If you join IIEST along with the hostel, you live your life creating many unforgettable memories that you can cherish forever.

  • Apart from the fun and frolic that takes place, there are certain rules and regulations that everyone has to follow.
  • There is a time for every student that they cannot go outside campus after 10 pm and girls have to report to their hostel by 11 pm.
  • But there are no such restrictions for boys to roam inside the campus or hall.
  • Any sort of ragging and violence is strictly banned in the college.

But we can say that the hostel life at IIEST prepares you for all the real-life challenging situations in your future ahead. So if you want to be an IIESTian, get ready for the exciting days that you have in your college.

How's the condition of VSSUT hostels?

Namrata Das Posted On : October 11th, 2023

Currently, VSSUT has 11 Hostels out of which 6 are boys hostels while 5 are girls hostels.

Boys

There are 4 old boys' hostels and 2 new ones. The old ones are West(Kratu), East(Atri), North (Vasistha) and South (Marichi), the condition of which isn’t very good. The rooms are in poor condition and the food served is the same every day. However, it has a well-maintained Central Garden and huge cricket fields. Additionally, you will find a TT room, TV room and Common room in all these four hostels. The North Hostel and South Hostels also have a library. The new hostels are Pulaha and Pulasthya which are designed excellently and have modern facilities.

 Girls

VSSUT has 5 girls' hostels namely Anuradha, Arundhati, Visakha, Rohini, and Angira. From what I have heard from my fire dad, the food served is pathetic, even worse than boys' hostels.

Summing up, I would like to say that hostel life, be it anywhere, is about adjusting and creating memories with limited resources.

How is the living condition in SVNIT hostels?

AS
Amit Sharma Posted On : January 8th, 2024
Studied at NIT Surat

SVNIT has one of the best hostels, and I personally liked each one that I stayed in. Boys can opt for a single room from second year onwards.

Fresher boys are allotted Gajjar Bhawan, and it is the best hostel for boys, at SVNIT. 2nd year boys are allotted Tagore Bhawan and Nehru Bhawan. Tagore Bhawan has small and cozy rooms, but the small bathrooms are a drawback. 3rd and final year boys get SV Bhawan which has well ventilated single rooms with an attached balcony. Bhabha is another option for 3rd year boys. The good thing about Bhabha is that you can play endless cricket with friends over there.

The hostel messes are decent. Aamras, ice cream, egg curry, chaas and french fries are some of the good options served in the messes. There is no system of self service, rather the food is given on your plate by the mess staff. Hostel day is the time to eat as much as you want, and dance to your heart’s content. Each hostel has its own mess.

The campus is filled with crows, pigeons and peacocks. The hostels have TT rooms, and hostel sports events are also organized regularly.

The SVNIT hostels have good and safe living conditions. You will enjoy your stay at the institution.

How is the girl's hostel at PGIMS Rohtak?

MS
Mitali Sharma, Posted On : October 3rd, 2023
MBBS from Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS Rohtak (2022)

The kind of hostel you are allotted at PGIMS Rohtak depends on the course you opt for. MBBS students are usually allotted 3 hostels depending on the year of their course. Usually, first-year MBBS girls are allotted the Yamuna Hostel which is located near the OPD, while second-year MBBS students are allotted Krishna Hostel which comes under MDU and PGI and lastly, the 3rd year, students are transferred to the Ganga Hostel near the auditorium. Let's look at the hostel facilities of each of these hostels individually

  • Yamuna Hostel: This is the most decent hostel that serves amazing food. The first and second-floor bathrooms are cleaned regularly. You will find the warden to be a little strict so if you have brought electric kettles and iron, keep them hidden.
  • Krishna Hostel: This hostel has spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, and average food. The biggest drawback is the distance from college so you will have to arrange a convenience of your own although a bus picks up and drops students too.
  • Ganga Hostel: This is the worst hostel almost in ruins. The facilities are pathetic.

Hope my answer clears all your doubts.

SB
Shivam Behera Posted On : June 17th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (2020)

No, everyone gets a hostel accommodation at IIT Indore and it's not only the toppers who get hostels here. However, there is a kind of distinction in the facilities offered to them. The normal students get facilities such as

  • 5 BHK flats to accommodate 5 students meaning single occupancy rooms
  • Large spacious rooms with Cot, Almirah, Study Table, Chair
  • Refrigerator
  • Telephone
  • RO Drinking Water
  • Hot Water
  • Sofa Set
  • Discussion Table
  • Wi-Fi Connection & LAN port
  • Individual Attached Bathroom

Whereas students who have got AIR<=300 get the following facilities

  • 1 BHK flats to every student that are fully furnished studio apartment
  • Large spacious bedroom with Bed, Almirah, Study Table, Chair
  • Hall with LED HD TV
  • Refrigerator
  • Telephone
  • RO Drinking Water
  • Hot Water
  • Sofa Set
  • Wi-Fi Connection & LAN port
  • Individually attached bathroom
  • Dining platform

Although there aren't any major differences, toppers certainly get more privacy than normal students.
