Most freshers are allotted Hostel C at Thapar University. 

It is the oldest hostel of the university, and has spacious rooms. It is well maintained and has access to modern facilities like 24 hour IP camera surveillance, Wifi connectivity, P A system and a mini laundry plant. 

Other than these facilities, Hostel C has a well equipped gym, a tv room/common room, a library cum reading room, hot water facility, RO treated drinking water, and indoor games facility for tt, carom, chess and badminton. 

The hostel C lawns are big and well maintained, thus providing a serene environment. Its mess serves good and hygienic food. The mess committee looks after mess related affairs, and it is composed of Hostel C residents. The students of Hostel C themselves decide their mess’s menu. The executive committee of residents runs the day to day hostel affairs. 

Thus overall, life at Hostel C is quite good. You will enjoy your stay here, in case you are allotted this hostel.

From what I heard, everyone who applies early during the admissions process gets a hostel room at KGMU irrespective of the fact if you are a local or not. Sometimes students who aren’t allotted room initially, get one after a month, after the backlog of applications is cleared. So here are a few tips to get a hostel room easily at KGMU Lucknow

1. Apply early by paying 6000/- as yearly room charges
2. Make sure to make a good friend in the admission room so you can apply for a room together.
3. Make sure you are a regular hosteller who follows all the rules at least for the first six months.

Only freshers are not allotted single seater rooms at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The rest of the students are allotted single rooms.

The authorities are somewhat right in allotting shared rooms to first year students. To be away from home for the first time can be very emotionally draining for many students. In such circumstances, having someone around helps them feel connected and happy. Other than that, sharing a room with someone from a different cultural background helps in making them broad-minded and accepting of others’ values. They have someone by their side in a new environment, which is another important benefit of shared rooms. 

Thus, not allotting single seater rooms to freshers is a good decision made by the AIIMS Bhubaneswar authorities.

Hostel life at NIT Rourkela is very happening and vibrant. You will make a lot of new friends here and create memories. The students are instilled with a sense of freedom and this makes the experience more thrilling. You start enjoying the company of your newly found family.

KMC Manipal has a total of 3 hostels out of which one is for first years while two are for remaining students. Only one of these hostels has an air conditioning facility. 

• Nehru-A boys hostel: It's considered to be the best hostel of KMC although it has no AC and accommodates on 1st yrs. There are MBBS, BDS, Pharma, and students of Allied health sciences in this hostel. The rooms of this hostel are double occupancy. Other facilities include an internal canteen, 2 badminton Courts and a library. Curfew rules are imposed on first-year students. For the first month, the time at night was 9:30. For the second month, it was 10:30., then 11:30, and at last, it will remain 12am throughout.
• Nehru-B, C: It’s only for M.B.B.S. students from the second year and this too has no AC facility. The curfew timings are also the same as 12 a.m.
• Amartya Sen Hostel: It's the only AC hostel for students of all courses. The curfew timings are the same as others. Additionally, this hostel has LAN access and WiFi, compared to only wifi of other hostels.

Every hostel has strict curfew timings and students are expected to abide by them. There are room cleaning services throughout the day and water coolers everywhere. 

NIT Rourkela provides excellent hostel facilities for both girls and boys. Let us have a brief look at the facilities

Rooms and Accommodation - They have 10 hostels for college students. It is divided into two for both girls and boys. They do not have special facilities for postgraduate students. The rooms are spacious and need to be shared with two or three batchmates.

Other Activities – Students can enjoy their leisure time by playing outdoor and indoor games. They encourage sports like basketball, badminton, etc. The central part of the attraction is the music room, which pleases the musicians. The gym facilities are also available inside the hostel.

Food and Maintenance – They provide decent mess food, which includes non-vegetarian food, for six days a week. They Ensure cleanliness on both campus and in the hostel and laundry services are also available here
