What facilities are provided in the NIT Calicut MBA hostel?

SK
Shifa Khan Posted On : August 20th, 2021
MBA from National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

NITC MBA hostel is one of the newest hostels on the campus. The MBA hostel is exclusively for boys, and the rooms are large enough for two people. Each room has two beds (no mattress), two tables, two chairs, two almirah, one fan, one tube light, and two windows.

For every two rooms, there is a shared bathroom. The hostel also has a good laundry service. The mess is close to the hostel. Overall, it's a very nice hostel with good facilities and lots of greenery. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate around 300 students, including visiting faculty.

A separate ultra-modern hostel facility for girls is also available. The girls' hostel has a mini-canteen, an indoor shuttle court, a gymnasium, and an extension of the co-operative society store.

Does NMIMS Mumbai provide hostel accommodation or residential facilities near the campus? What's the cost associated?

SD
Shivani Deshmukh Posted On : March 14th, 2023
B.Sc. in Finance (college major), NMIMS

If you are considering staying at MKM Sanghavi hostel at NMIMS Mumbai, here are some important things you should know based on personal experience:

  • Food: The mess facility is available, but it can be expensive at Rs 75 per thali. It is open from around 7:30 am to 10 pm, but breakfast is often not served on time. If you come back from college after 10 pm, you will need to order food from outside. Sharing a thali can be a good way to save money.
  • Washing: There is a washing machine area on the first floor with around 7-8 machines, but only half of them work. With so many girls and only a few working machines, it can be challenging to wash your clothes. MBA students have erratic schedules, and they may not be able to use the washing machine when they want to.
  • Water: There is a machine on every floor, but some girls prefer to buy their own Bisleri water because they have heard rumors of worms in the water from the machines. You only get hot water in your bathroom for a limited time each day, and it can take a while to get hot water. This can be inconvenient when you are busy with deadlines.
  • Fridge: There is a fridge on every floor, and you can label your milk tetra packs with your name. If there is no fridge on your floor, you can ask the authorities to provide one.
  • Curfew: The curfew is 11 pm, but you can enter later if you are coming back from college or placements. However, once you are in the hostel, you cannot leave after 11 pm. If you need to stay in the library to study, they will not let you out after curfew.
  • Rooms: The rooms are spacious, with most being triple sharing and a few twin-sharing. The beds are single beds with box beds, and you get a study table and cupboard. Storage space is decent, but lighting is low, so many people use table lamps in addition to the light at the study table.
  • Bathrooms: The bathrooms have been designed well, with three separate areas for the bath, toilet, and wash basin. Lighting is low, though, and some plug points may not work.
  • Open drain: The biggest disadvantage of the hostel is the open drain behind the building, which leads to a lot of mosquitoes. The common area on each floor overlooks the drain, and some rooms have balconies that open to the drain.

Which college is better RUHS Jaipur or Dr SN Jodhpur in terms of study quality hostel life sports and extracurricular activities?

SR
Soumya Kanti Roy Posted On : October 6th, 2021
RUHS College of Medical Science, Jaipur

One of my friends had been studying in RUHS Jaipur and according to her, SN Jodhpur is not well known as compared to RUHS. Here are some of the important factors that she mentioned about RUHS.

  • Academics: It is incredible at RUHS. The academics are very good.
  • Sports: During fest and various other events, Football matches, Cricket matches, Badminton games, Volleyball games are organized. The sports facilities are good.
  • Extracurricular Activities: The extracurricular activities are held a little less than other colleges. Although, there are fests and events where anyone can show their talent. However, it needs to be increased more.

However, you should choose according to your convenience. Take other important factors such as location into consideration, while choosing the institute.

Is there any hostel near Motilal Nehru College in Delhi?

SG
Sharad Gupta, Posted On : November 22nd, 2021
studied B.Com at Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi (2017)

No, there are no hostels near Motilal Nehru College (NLNC) Delhi. But there are lots of PGs nearby.

If you have a better financial condition go for Anand Niketan which is just opposite to Motilal Nehru College.

And if you want something affordable, you can choose Satya Niketan which is approximately 1.5 km away and opposite Venkateshwara College. Satya Niketan Market is always crowded mainly by the south campus students.

Both the areas are completely safe. But Anand Niketan will provide better comfort and a welcoming environment.

Is a single person room available in the IMS Noida boy’s hostel?

AS
Akshita Sonavane Posted On : March 10th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (2000–present)

Firstly, IMS Noida does not have its own boys' hostel and is affiliated with Sanskriti Awaas Boys Hostel. This hostel is at a distance of 5-6km from the main campus. Some other highlights of this hostel are

  • The overall hostel facility is extremely poor
  • The amenities are of substandard quality
  • Hard water is provided and causes a lot of problems
  • The two-bedroom rooms are decent but the triple bedrooms are average

Overall the poor hostel facilities might hinder your studies and bring down your performance as a whole. So I would recommend you to find PGs or flats in Indrapuram, Ghaziabad.

Is the hostel in IIEST Shibpur mandatory?

HS
Harshita Sinha Posted On : March 14th, 2021
B.E from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2020)

No. It is not mandatory. The college allows you to have full freedom on whether you want to live in the hotel or outside. If someone has a problem with hostel life he/she can stay outside. But if you do not take hostels for a year you are going to miss a lot of things in life.

The main crux of college life lies in a hostel and it is better to join the hostel for the first 2 years. Also, it is easier to maintain the 8–5 classes from hostels and after the whole day tiring classes you can hang with your friends, play on the two grounds or go to the gym.

How are the mess and canteens at IIIT, Guwahati?

KG
Kashish Gupta Posted On : May 2nd, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati (2020)

IIIT Guwahati has two canteens, one in the hostel building and one in the academic building.

  • The canteen at IIIT Guwahati is average. It is just like the ones that are common among all the government colleges. It is not much developed and high standard, however, it serves its purpose.
  • The canteens at both the girls’ and boys’ hostel are allowed to operate till late at night. The canteen in the academic building is operated from 10 am to 11 pm.
  • There is also a food van available that delivers food directly to the hostel.
  • The mess service at IIIT Guwahati is just fine. It serves three-time meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • There is also a tea facility for an extra charge. It is not included in the mess charge and has to be paid separately.
  • The breakfast and lunch served are usually vegetarian. At the dinner, the students are given an option to choose between a vegetarian special item and a non-vegetarian special item.
  • The taste is good and the food is of satisfactory level. The non-vegetarian food served is really good.

Both the mess and canteen are not high profile but are satisfactory. Now, tenders are offered, thus making a competition between caterers which is a positive sign for improvement and better service.
