How much valuable are the certification courses of NSE BSE NISM?
The certifications provided by NISM, NSE, and BSE are for educational purposes. They are valuable in the sense that it confirms your awareness about the particular segment.
Example: If you have cleared the NISM Series VIII exam, then it shows that you have enough knowledge about the equity derivatives segment and are qualified to be a dealer. But that is the extent of the matter. It does not certify that you know everything about equity derivatives.

My son got rank 3903 in JEE Advanced. We have secured admission in IIIT Bangalore in Imtech (CS). What are some opinions whether to opt for available branches in IIT or continue with IIIT Bangalore?
The choice mainly depends on your son’s interest field. But I’m assuming his interest lies in CSE.

What is the placement scenario and scope of the IIM PGP Agri Business Management (ABM) program in general and with special reference to IIM Lucknow?
It depends on the other options available to you. ABM graduates are eligible for many of the marketing and operations jobs that normal PGP students are. Choosing an ABM at any of the top IIMs (including IIM Lucknow) is a better option than a general MBA from a tier 2 business school. Even if you take a drop for CAT, it will be a waste of your year. In an MBA, your college tag makes a big difference. In the long run, the IIM tag will benefit your corporate career a lot.
How can I get my original certificate of BA from IGNOU?
You should check with your local post office if they sent you the original certificate via Indian post. The original mark sheets/certificates are sent to the candidate at their registered address, but they may or may not reach the student. You have the following options available to you.
1. Visit a regional study center and inquire if they have your original certificate.
If they have it, they will issue you a certificate after the necessary formalities.
2. If not, go to IGNOU headquarters in Delhi (allow a couple of days before going, but staff members at Delhi HO are very helpful) and they will provide you with a duplicate copy of your mark sheet/certificate.
3. When you visit the IGNOU headquarters in Delhi, try to obtain the dispatch number as well as other pertinent information and establish contact with the postal department.
Otherwise, with the above information, file an RTI regarding the status of delivery of your consignment as per the information received from IGNOU. Because you will face difficulties if you do not present original certificates at the time of admission/interview, make every effort to obtain the originals.
Which is better for an MTech: IIT Delhi or IIT Madras?
One of my cousins was in a similar dilemma and she considered the following points before making her decision.
- Placements-wise, IIT Delhi gives a slight edge to IIT Madras although as a whole the scenario is pretty much the same.
- The campus ambiance and culture as a whole of IIT Madras are more driven toward individual personality development.
- If you are planning to start your own business one day, IIT Madras is the right place for you. Its rich startup- culture focuses on inculcating entrepreneurial skills in the students.
- IIT Madras campus has a better climate than outside the campus so most of the time you will be spending inside the campus.
Although both the colleges have their unique strengths and weaknesses, IIT Madras seems to be a slightly better option than IIT Delhi especially if you are a nature lover !
Is it okay for an IITian to study in XLRI? Is it worth leaving IIM K, I for XLRI?
XLRI is among the top B-Schools in the country. After IIM A, B, and C, it is the preferred MBA destination for most aspirants. XLRI placements and academics are top-notch. Students of the institute receive a median CTC of around INR 29 LPA.
XLRI is also among the oldest management institute in the country and has an excellent brand presence. So, leaving IIM K, I for XLRI will be definitely worth it.
What is wrong with thapar university patiala?
My sister is a student at Thapar University and here are some of the things that she complains about.
- The hike in tuition fees every year.
- The increase in student intake, which in turn affects the quality of education.
- Over the years the placement records other than the CSE branch have declined.
- The faculty base is also not that great.
- The cut-off is decreasing every year but it is the case in every college. Today, even with a score of 130 in JEE mains, one can make it to an NIT.
Overall, Thapar University is a decent college but certainly needs to improve a few things.
