How is IIIT Ranchi's CSE?

The IIIT Ranchi’s CSE branch is good but it cannot be compared to other IIITs such as IIIT Allahabad or IIIT Hyderabad or even BITS Pilani in any way if you want a hardcore coding culture among the students as these colleges have.

The institute does not have a permanent campus, so it is quite understandable that the coding culture has not fully developed till yet. Here are some points which will tell you the exact state of the CSE branch of IIIT Ranchi –

• Course structure is quite flexible which gives you ample time for exploring off-shore topics such as cloud architecture, web and android development than just regular curriculum. 
• Assignments and other related workload are also comparatively lower.
• The community support from NIT Jamshedpur, the temporary campus of IIIT Ranchi, is very well appreciated and you will find people from various backgrounds such as AI/ML, android development etc.
• However, the lack of a permanent campus will lead to shifting and adjustment problems. Also the infrastructure needed for a proper computer science student may not be available once they shift to some other campus. This also leads to less number of visiting and guest faculty in comparison to other institutes.

As for the placements, the first batch passed in 2020 and out of the 17 students, 11 got placed, So yes, it is good but not really outstanding. But the situation should improve over time.
