What is the biggest problem that IET, Lucknow faces today?
After my cousin visited both IET Lucknow and HBTI Kanpur, he experienced certain things which I am going to share with you. Here is what he says,
- The administration does not often treat students with courtesy. Sometimes, because of that, they mislead the students.
- IET Lucknow does not have access to online accessories. They still practice the use of a register.
- IET Lucknow, if contacted, does not respond, which is a major drawback at times.
- The institute does not refund the amount deposited in any case whatsoever. You have to personally visit the administration to further optimize the situation.
- There can be a possible absence of several lab facilities.
- The syllabus can at times be outdated. However, you must update your information regarding the same.
- The placement drive also partly needs refurbishment, other than most criteria.
So these are some of the things you might want to consider before choosing the institute. As it will decide your career ahead.
How is it to be a graduate engineer trainee (mechanical) at NTTF, Peenya, Bangalore? How will the daily life be at NTTF?
The life of a graduate mechanical engineer trainee from NTTF, Peenya, Bangalore is fulfilling but demanding as well.
It is certainly not easy and every day you will learn a few things which will be important in your career. The lessons you will get will be physically and mentally demanding but after completing the course you work in any company very comfortably.
If your knowledge of the core subjects is good, then you will definitely get a good job in a good company with a salary package which will be according to your expectations.
Also people from all over the country study here and thus you will learn about various other cultures and traditions. Overall it is a very enriching experience.
Are dasa students at nit trichy eligible for on campus placement?
Yes, they are eligible and they are known to get offered good packages. According to some of my friends at NIT Trichy, some companies, especially MNCs which are expanded throughout different continents tend to prefer these students over others, if you're competing against them in the final interview.
- Their exposure to different country backgrounds and openness to move around the globe for education represent them as suitable candidates for MNCs.
- They are also often better at communication as well.
- These qualities make them a good hire for companies, as they can easily adapt.
- For the Indian students, you should not be surprised to see some of your NRI friends getting placed unexpectedly into some of the best companies.
So if you're a DASA candidate in NIT Trichy then be assured that you'll get the best shots to convert in campus provided you get to the final round on your caliber.
Which publications reference books are best for the IGNOU BA programme, GPH Straight Forward or Neeraj?
It is strongly advised that you only purchase Neeraj Publication books and not the GPH. If you want to pass the exam, GPH is sufficient. However, if you want to learn something and get good grades, you should definitely buy Neeraj Publication books. Neeraj Publication books are a mix of direct questions answered and concepts covered briefly. This is a better introduction to the subject than the GPH.
Neither Neeraj publication books nor GPH can replace the IGNOU study material. Studying these IGNOU books will not only increase your knowledge but will also boost your confidence. You need to determine your reason for studying first and then study the book accordingly.
How is the placement scenario at IIT Kanpur?
Placements play an important role in one’s career and most of the time an institute's worth and credibility are judged on the basis of the same. IIT Kanpur maintains an am excellent placement scenario which has been explained further in detail
Department Wise:
- Computer Science, Electrical and Mathematics & Computing (CEM): The branches are the most preferred by companies with CS placement being 100% while Electrical and Mathematics & Computing have above 95%.
- Core Branches: Most students tend to go for core jobs because the core opportunities in their branches are scarce. However, IIT Kanpur has many top core companies visiting the campus yearly.
- Interdisciplinary branches: Some core companies allow students of these branches to sit for placements yet they prefer students from the main department over them.
Course wise
- B.Tech/BS: The most sought-after students belong to either BTech or BS. Every firm offers enough roles to these students except some core companies that prefer MTech students to BTech students.
- Dual Degree: The students are open to opportunities offered to both BTech as well as MTech students owing to the nature of their degree
- M.Tech/MSR/M.Sc: Branches like CSE, Stats, and Design provide good opportunities to MTech students. Some no core and almost all core companies prefer MTech students
Kind of roles:
- Software: The majority of recruiters are software firms that prefer CEM students or students with food coding skills in general.
- Core roles: Quite a number of core companies visit
- Analytics: The number of analytical roles offered has increased due to its increase in demand. Anyone with good analytical skills is open to such roles.
- Consulting: Many top consulting firms visit the campus and open profiles to B.Tech and Dual degree streams.
- Product roles: These roles too have seen an increase over the last 2 years.
All in all, the placement scenario at IIT Kanpur is quite good with a plethora of opportunities provided that you are well-prepared and determined.
How preferable is it to do a BBA from NMIMS?
NMIMS BBA has a good curriculum and offers decent placement opportunities. The faculty base is brilliant. According to NMIMS placements around 100% of students get placed from BBA. TCS, Genpact, Tresvista, etc. are the major recruiting companies. For BBA, the highest CTC is INR 12 LPA. You can get plenty of placement opportunities if you have a decent CGPA.
How was your experience at ISB Mohali in general? Did you ever feel like you should've been in Hyderabad instead?
My cousin belonged to the Mohali campus of ISB and during her exchange term, she observed and compared the pros and cons of both campuses. I have listed the major pros of both colleges.
ISB Hyderabad
- Huge batch size ensures peers from a variety of backgrounds.
- The location is helpful for the students to maintain a good social life
- ISB Hyderabad has a wider range of student-driven clubs and committed
- The placement presentations take place at the Hyderabad campus and Mohali students get to join through a video call only
ISB Mohali
- ISB Mohali has very few resident faculty as it has been recently established. As a result, the institute calls in the best faculty from colleges like Wharton, UNC, and Kellogg to teach. Their pedagogy is unique and ISB Hyderabad lacks in this aspect.
- The campus is new so the accommodation facilities are better and made to suit all the necessary requirements. These hostels have better furnishing, space, and housekeeping facilities in comparison to the hostels of ISB Hyderabad.
- The small batch size ensures the quality over quantity belief
- The choice of electives is done through online bidding at ISB. Hyderabad campus with its huge batch size makes it impossible for all the students to get their choice of electives. Mohali students, in turn, face no such problem because of the small batch size
ISB maintains a strict balance between both campuses and the placement statistics are a testament to that as no major differences can be observed.
Overall my cousin never regretted choosing Mohali over Hyderabad and recommends the same to everyone.
How is the VIT, PUNE college for engineering? How are the placements?
VIT, PUNE is unquestionably a good college to pursue engineering courses. VIT, PUNE has made a huge development in aspects like academic excellence, infrastructure, faculty, etc. The reasons for choosing VIT, PUNE are mentioned below-
- Ranking & accreditation: VIT Pune is ranked by India Today as 30 out of the top engineering colleges in India in 2023 by India Today. The Institute has been accredited ('A++' Grade) by NAAC, Bangalore.
- Industry Connections: The university's connections with industry partners. lead to better internship opportunities, guest lectures, and networking.

In conclusion, VIT, Pune appears to be a reputable engineering college with several positive attributes. Its high ranking, accreditation, and strong industry connections signify a commitment to academic excellence and real-world exposure for students.
My merit list number in NMIMS NPAT is 2440. Will I be able to get admission in ASMSOC for BBA?
In NMIMS, BBA is not as reputed as the other courses. Many students don’t join the college after the selection so you might get selected in the second or third list.
One of my friends had the rank of 3000 and he got selected in the first list of the Bangalore campus. With a merit number of 2440, you have around a 50% chance of getting admission to the Mumbai campus.
If not in the first list, there’s a fair chance that you will get through the second or third list. Hope this helps.
How do I pass the IGNOU BCA exam?
One of my friends was pursuing BCA from IGNOU. He shared that initially he did not take the course seriously. He believed that distance learning is extremely easy and does not require effort. But as per his experience, this course is no joke despite being distance learning. BCA is a technical or IT field. You can't just write anything and attain marks like many other subjects.
He further shared a few tips that might help you pass the IGNOU BCA exam:

You will have to start working hard right from your first year. Set your goal as 80-90%. Only then will you get around 50-60%.

Try to pass each and every subject in your first attempt.

Don't leave any questions unanswered in your exams.

Read study materials provided by IGNOU.

Solve the past 5-6 years' question papers thoroughly. This will be a big help.
If you follow the tips sincerely, you will get good marks in your BCA exams.
