Manipal University is ranked 45th, and VJTI is ranked 75th for engineering in India by the NIRF. Both colleges have a wide range of programs. Manipal offers courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Sc, MCA, and Ph.D. programs. VJTI offers courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, Ph.D., PG Diploma, and After 10th Diploma programs.

Although VJTI and Manipal are on the same level when it comes to placements and teaching quality, students, especially the ones who want to opt for housing, must keep in mind the facilities each college offers to its students while choosing their college of higher education. It is important for students to research the availability of basic necessities so that they can have a good college experience.
NIT Silchar is an engineering college so its MBA program isn’t exactly very credible. Tezpur University is a much better option than NIT Silchar in terms of faculty, exposure, and job opportunities. One needs to bear in mind that the reputation of the program matters more than the reputation of the institute.
Here are a few pros and cons of joining NIT Silchar for an MBA program
Cons:
So, so NIT Silchar is a decent choice for an MBA only if you failed to make it to the IIMs, private B Schools, IITs, other NITs, and Tezpur University.
The difference between PGDM and PGDM-BKFS is that PGDM is the general MBA program and the course curriculum comprises all fundamental and cross-sectional areas of management while the course curriculum of PGDM-BKFS is tailor-made for Finance. In the first year for PGDM students are required to study various management-related subjects like Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operation. However, the BKFS course only includes Finance related topics.
TAPMI offers good infrastructure for BKFS. The institute has the largest state-of-arts finance lab in the country with 16 Bloomberg terminals. TAPMI also offers a unique Student Managed Investment Course (SMIC) for the finance stream in which BKFS students work in teams and each team has a mentor from industry currently working in the BFSI Sector. Also, unlike the traditional internship that PGDM students go through the BFS cohort had a two-month study tour in Bombay Stock Exchange where the students had their live projects.
Given below is a comparison between the two courses.

If you are considering pursuing a Master of Science (M Sc) degree from NMIMS, it is important to do some further research on the recognition of the degree. However, an MBA from their Mumbai campus can be a good option to consider.
On the other hand, IFMR offers only MBA and Ph.D. programs, so it is not possible to pursue an M.Sc from there. As for JBIMS, it is the most prestigious institution in Mumbai, but there have been some concerns raised about the accuracy of their placement salary data. Additionally, the selection process for their M Sc course is quite competitive, with only 30 seats available for the program and a large number of candidates competing for those spots.
Considering your interest in finance, it would be beneficial to aim for admission to a top-notch business school like XLRI, which is renowned for its finance program. Another option would be to gain experience in the industry and pursue a finance course such as CFA or FRM, which would make you eligible for admission to world-renowned business schools such as the Indian School of Business.
Here is a comparison between Ceramic Engineering at NIT Rourkela and Mechanical at VSSUT-
Based on these parameters, I would recommend you join Ceramics at NIT Rourkela. However, I would also suggest you talk to the alumni of both colleges before arriving at a decision.
Any college can be good for competitive programming. It all relies on you to educate yourself, to learn new strategies, and to spend hours coding.
Lastly, don't support the myth that the only way to prove yourself as a coder is competitive programming. There are other coding fields as well. In this sense, do not consider that there was no "real coder" in IIEST because there was no competitive coding pattern previously in IIEST (BESU back then).
Some of the alumni of the institute are working in top companies in India and overseas and have never been interested in competitive coding.
I have a few friends at MNNIT Allahabad and NIT Surathkal. Based on the reviews I got from them here are some of the things that you should know in order to choose the right institute for you.
Curriculum: CS at MNNIT Allahabad and IT at NIT Surathkal have a similar curriculum with the exception of a few subjects.
Placements: Placements at both MNNIT Allahabad and NIT Surathkal are quite good. Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.
Institute | MNNIT Allahabad | NIT Surathkal |
Average CTC | 11.8 LPA | 17 LPA |
Highest CTC | 49 LPA | 43 LPA |
Top Recruiters | Intel, Byjus, Amazon | L&T Infotech, ZS Associates |
At Surathkal, you may face some problems regarding language and food. If you are okay with these issues then you can go for NIT Surathkal. Choose either of these two institutes based on what is more convenient for you.
Both the colleges mentioned here are one of the most reputed colleges in the country and have excellent academic as well as placement records available. BITS Hyderabad offers a BE and NIT Surathkal offers a BTech program in mechanical engineering.
Admission- BITS Hyderabad conducts their own entrance exam called BITSAT while NIT Surathkal admits through JEE Main only for the BTech Mechanical Engineering program. The total fees for BITS Hyderabad and NIT Surathkal are 16.73 LPA and 5.39 LPA.
The closing cut off for Mechanical Engineering at these institutes are as follows.
BITS Hyderabad – 275 in BITSAT
NIT Surathkal – 8483 in JEE Main
Placement-
BITS Hyderabad- has been quite consistent in their placement statistics, also as the University is attached to Birla Institutes, the industrial exposure is very practical. The highest package received this year is 39.5 LPA and the average package was of 11 LPA.
NIT Surathkal – The placement rate of NIT Surathkal is very impressive. The highest package bagged by the students this year is 39 LPA and the average package was around 14.15 LPA. The top recruiters are Hero, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank.
Some of the key points of these colleges are given below.
BITS Hyderabad:
The institute focuses on practical knowledge and updates its curriculum from time to time to make the best out of it.
Presently, BITS Hyderabad is having an expansion phase and plans to add a built-up area of almost 50% of the present area.
Furthermore, it already has 65 research projects that are ongoing in the campus, most of which are supported by the prominent funding agencies from across India and abroad.
NIT Surathkal:
It is an Institute of National Importance. Situated in Mangalore, this institution offers numerous PG and UG programs in various fields of science, engineering, and management.
It consists of 11 support centers and 14 academic departments.
NITK Surathkal was previously ranked 6th amongst the country's top engineering colleges by Outlook India, 16th by India Today, and 14th by The Week.
So coming to the question if the intention is to explore college life at fullest without having any financial constraints and want a good industrial exposure then BITS Hyderabad would be a better option. On the other hand, if one wants a campus that has an equal reputation and almost a quarter in fee structure then NIT Surathkal would be the better option.
There are various grounds on which these two colleges compete and there are various parameters on which the colleges should be analyzed before making the final decision.
The following are certain points that will hopefully help you with your analysis:

NIT Allahabad has less diversity because most of the students belong to the northern states. But, at NIT Calicut you will find students from every part of the country; from Kerala to Himachal to Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat. Hence, it is largely diversified.
In my opinion, you alone can decide the best branch for yourself and others can only guide you. If you are evaluating and comparing branches based on placements, then trust me it won’t help in the long run. Unless you are genuinely interested in the branch, you won’t be able to pursue a career in it for a long time.

So, make sure you go for the branch that intrigues you and not the one that offers better placements.
