Which college should I choose for CSE, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences or MVJCE?

BG

You’ll have a good time at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences.

Ramaiah offers good lab facilities and workshops. The faculty teaches in a friendly and interesting way. The marking scheme is quite strict, and the placement scenario isn’t the best. But the university has a decent brand name, so you may also try for off campus placements.

Try to approach some seniors from B.Tech CSE at Ramaiah, and ask them about the current placement scenario. You can also approach some seniors from MVJCE Bangalore to draw better conclusions.

I personally chose MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences over other options for my B.Tech CSE.

Which is better among SJMSOM, IIM Shillong, and MDI Gurgaon for a GEM fresher?

AA
Anamica Agarwal Posted On : January 21st, 2023
Former Student at Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (2019–2021)

When considering which business school to attend, it's important to weigh your options carefully and choose the one that best aligns with your personal and professional goals. Here is a summary of three business schools and some key factors to consider when making your decision:

  • SJMSOM: Established in 1995, this business school has a relatively small batch size of 110 students, which means less competition for placements in good companies. The average salary package is around INR 25 lakh per year, although this may vary depending on various factors. SJMSOM has the best return on investment (ROI) compared to the other two schools. It also has the advantage of being located in Powai and being affiliated with IIT Bombay. If you have strong skills in math and statistics, this might be a good option for you.
  • MDI Gurgaon: Established in 1973, this is a well-respected private business school that attracts a wide range of major and marquee firms for campus recruitment. However, the competition for placements is tough due to the large batch size. The fees for this program are around INR 21.4 lakh per year, and the average salary package is around INR 23 lakh per year. One advantage of this business school is its location.
  • IIM Shillong: Established in 2008, this business school has a batch size that is smaller than MDI but larger than SJSOM. The fees are lower than those of MDI, at around INR 19 lakh per year. While top consulting firms have started hiring from IIM Shillong, the location may be a disadvantage for some candidates.

Should I go for MDI or IIM-Indore?

SR
Sucheta Roy Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

Both IIM Indore Mumbai Campus and MDI Gurgaon are very good institutes for Management Studies. Both institutes are on a par with each other on an academic level however there is a slight difference when it comes to job opportunities and such. Another factor is the alumni network. IIM has a better alumni network than MDI.

  • The IIM tag will definitely help you in the long run.
  • When it comes to placements companies tend to offer more salaries to IIM Indore students when compared to MDI. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at IIM Indore is 23 LPA. For MDI, the average CTC ranges around 20 LPA.
  • Even for consultancy job roles, IIM Indore is the preferable choice of the companies.
  • IIM Indore has a strong international linkage and is well connected to the nearby industry.
  • IIM is also preferable due to its vast spread network of alumni who are in every major company in every major position spread across the globe.

Due to the above reasons, IIM Indore is better than MDI.
