Tiyasha Banerjee Posted On : August 23rd, 2021
B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu (2019)

Among BITS Goa ECE and NIT Trichy EEE, the latter is a better option. NIT Trichy will give you better exposure and opportunities.

Most companies that visit the campus placement of NIT Trichy allow EEE students to sit for placement. You can appear in interviews for IT, Management job roles along with core job roles. Also, PSU visits the campus placements and mostly prefers EEE students for recruitments. Which can’t be said for many campuses. Here are the recent placement highlights for NIT Trichy.

Average CTC  6 LPA
Placement average  92%
Major recruiters  Wipro, HP, HCL, Volvo

BITS Goa is also a good option but comparably you will get better opportunities at NIT Trichy.

Which is better, B school in Tapmi or the NMIMS Bangalore?

DC
Durba Chatterjee Posted On : January 5th, 2021
PGDM from T. A. Pai Management Institute (2018)

TAPMI is the obvious choice from the two colleges because of the following reasons.

Reputation:

TAPMI is a well-established college with a good reputation, experienced faculty, rich alumni, and better placements. Whereas NMIMS Bangalore is a relatively new college mentored by the NMIMS brand.

  • TAPMI was ranked 19 and 27 respectively by India Today 2019 and NIRF 2020 for MBA.
  • NMIMS Bangalore was ranked 29 for MBA by India Today 2019.

Placements:

  • Placements too are better in TAPMI for the 2019 batch the highest package offered was 25 LPA, while the average package was 11.05 LPA About 126 recruiters have visited the campus. About 52 Pre-placement offers were made.
  • For the 2019 batch in NMIMS Bangalore, the highest package offered was 21.38 LPA and the average package was 10.5 LPA. A total of 91 companies have visited the campus and about 19 Pre-placement offers were made.

Infrastructure:

TAPMI offers great infrastructure. The finance lab is one of the best in the country. It is powered by 16 Bloomberg terminals and 7 Thomson Reuters terminals. Even many old IIMs do not have these facilities.

TAPMI offers admission through CAT whereas NMIMS Bangalore conducts NMAT for admission, so it is evident that you will be among better peers at TAPMI. Despite the locational disadvantage, TAPMI will be the best choice out of the two.

Which is better for mechanical engineering, PDPU or Nirma?

MR
Mayank Rathi Posted On : January 19th, 2022
B.Tech Petroleum Engineering, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar (2013)

According to the reviews online, pursuing Mechanical Engineering from PDPU will be a better choice than Nirma University.

  • Though Nirma is a more experienced university, it lags behind in exposure and facilities provided to the students.
  • PDPU being a newer institution satisfies all the requirements of the students, be it well equipped labs or classrooms.
  • PDPU has a well experienced faculty.
  • They provide proper industrial exposure through seminars, industrial visits, internships, etc.
Categories Nirma University PDPU
Course Fee INR 7.24 lakh INR 9.73 lakh
Placement Percentage 70% 70%
Highest CTC 12 LPA 10-12 LPA
Average CTC 5 LPA 6 LPA
Recruiting Companies L&T, Bosch, etc. Hindustan Unilever, Nayara Energy, etc.

The placements are also better at PDPU. Nirma University, though more experienced, has deteriorated a lot in recent years, therefore it is better if you go for PDPU to pursue Mechanical Engineering.

Is Kirloskar (KIAMS) Pune or Harihar better than BIMM in terms of return or investment or placement?

AP
Akshay Pandey Posted On : May 30th, 2021
MBA Operations Management, Balaji Institute of Modern Management (2015)

I have a few friends at BIMM so, I can give you an idea about their placements. It only becomes relevant when you have actually worked hard for 2 years. Your performance determines it all. You need to consistent with your academics, many students fail to do so, as a result of the sudden freedom that they get.

However, colleges like PUMBA, BIMM (and the rest of the SBS franchise), Simby are great choices when it comes to providing excellent placement opportunities. A maximum number of 300 companies (and more) visit SIMBY and SBS for placements by the end of your 2 academic years. I have friends studying at both institutes and we at times converse on the placement scene. And I can assure you that the placements are quite decent.

Here’s a brief highlight of the recent placement statistics for BIMM.

Average CTC

5.4 LPA

Placement rate

85%

Top recruiters

ADP India Pvt. Ltd., 3SC Supply Chain Solution Pvt. Ltd.

If you're academically excellent, do not worry as you would have a job by the time you reach your 3rd semester. Do some thorough research before deciding anything.

Although DA-IICT is unquestionably better than Nirma, Nirma is more well-known in Gujarat and other regions since it is older than DA-IICT. But DA-IICT has made a huge development in aspects like academic excellence, infrastructure, faculty, etc. The reasons for choosing DA-IICT are mentioned below:

  • Ranking & accreditation: According to the IIRF report 2023, DA-IICT ranked 1 among the top engineering colleges of India. The institution is accredited Grade A by NAAC.
  • Placement Records: The highest salary package offered is 54 LPA. The average salary package offered is 16-17 LPA. Almost 100% of students got placed.
  • Industry Connections: The university's connections with industry partners. lead to better internship opportunities, guest lectures, and networking.
  • Alumni Network: A strong alumni network can be valuable for networking and job placement after graduation. Krishank Dubey (Co-Founder at FeedCraft, Raipur), Bhavesh Manglani (Co-Founder at Delhivery, Gurgaon), and many more professionals are notable alumni of this organization.
  • Financial Considerations: The university provides scholarships ( DA-IICT Merit & Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, Cybage Khushboo Scholarships, Jai Jhulelal Scholarships for B.Tech. students) up to 100% to the students based on their merit and scores in different exams like CAT, GMAT, etc.

DA-IICT offers a compelling opportunity for a solid academic foundation, good placement statistics, and a dynamic learning environment that is ideal for being a better choice than Nirma University.

Which college is the best for a B.Sc(honours) in mathematics, Ramjas College or Kirori Mal College?

SR
Shashank Roy Posted On : November 8th, 2021
B.Sc. Physics (Hons.) from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University (2021)

Both Ramjas College and Kirori Mal College are quite reputed colleges. There are no such parameters to differentiate between these two. Both of these two institutes have good faculty bases. You will also get decent facilities to learn at these colleges.

The only significant factor that can be mentioned is that Kirori Mal has a NAAC A+ accreditation with a better grade as compared to Ramjas. However, it’s not wise to compare these two institutes based on grade. You will have decent opportunities at both. So, you can opt for any of these two based on your convenience.

Prantik Bhattacharya Posted On : January 6th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Graduated 2019)

Let’s compare both colleges on the basis of the following factors

Fees: IIM Kashipur - 11+ lacs, TAPMI - 14+ lacs.

Infrastructure: TAPMI has a decent campus, but it’s not at the level of IIM Kashipur’s infrastructure that resembles Harvard School of Business.

Average Salary: TAPMI - 9+ lacs, IIM Kashipur - 12+ lacs.

Faculties: IIM Kashipur and IIM Udaipur have the highest number of permanent faculties among the new IIMs.

IIM Tag: The IIM tag along with a strong alumni base is very beneficial.
