I am an alumnus of BIT Mesra and pursued my B.E. in Production Engineering from this institution. In my opinion, Production Engineering at BIT Mesra is an excellent course.
BIT Mesra Production Engineering faculty is learned and supportive at the same time. If you want a job in the manufacturing/production industry, the curriculum over there is useful and interesting. However, a few topics in the curriculum are obsolete and an update is required with the advancement in technology and production practices.
Production Engineering at BIT Mesra has an almost negligible workload when compared to the other branches. The faculty is not as strict with quizzes and assignment submissions. With some effort, you will perform quite well academically.
Placement-wise, Production Engineering at BIT Mesra is not an ideal branch. However, the top 10-15 students have a great chance of getting placed during campus recruitment. Not a good number of firms and industries related to this branch show up during campus recruitments. However, your skills and hard work will also determine your fate. During 2022, the placements for Production Engineering were decent with 33 students getting out of 42 registered students (and 36 eligible students).
Thus, Production Engineering at BIT Mesra is a really good stream, but not an ideal one in terms of placements.
My knowledge is limited to BMCRI as my brother is a student of the same so I won’t be able to give you a comparison between BMC and KMC. Here are a few highlights of the college
BMC focuses on the holistic development of the students so you can expect a fun-filled campus life.
I think the branch matters more than the institute and that being said personally I feel IIT Bhilai Electrical is a better option than IIT Indore Material Science. The small batch size enables you to make the most out of the opportunities and resources. The points below further prove my opinion
Here is a small list of things why you should consider IIT Bhilai:
Overall, taking IIT Bhilai will not disappoint you and you will have a plethora of opportunities here.
When it comes to evaluating the uniqueness of IIM Raipur, it's important to consider that the institute is relatively young, having been established around 22 years ago. You have the opportunity to witness the growth and development of the institute from its early stages. While IIM Raipur may not yet be considered a peerless institution, it has still managed to create a niche for itself among the IIMs.
One of the strengths of the institute is its per-capita spending on study materials, which is not limited, unlike older IIMs. Additionally, IIM Raipur is open to experimentation, which is a result of it being a startup compared to other, more established institutions.
Another aspect that works in favor of IIM Raipur is the student community. Despite past and ongoing constraints, the students have been continuously working to improve the institute and increase its visibility. This is evident in the outreach to aspirants during the post-CAT admission process, and the establishment of niche clubs like HRidhaan, OPEP, and CEC. Furthermore, the events organized by the institute such as HR Summit, GSMC, ICHL, and Leadership Summit, are of high visibility and good quality.
In conclusion, while IIM Raipur may not yet be considered a special institute, it is different in a positive sense and has the potential to become special in the near future.
Regardless of the fact whether you are North Indian or South Indian, IIT Kharagpur is the dream college for many engineering aspirants. It is a premier engineering institute with a legacy in academics that is unmatched by any other engineering college. Spread across a massive 2200 acres, the institute offers a dream campus life coveted by many.
To sum up, your town or origin does not really matter as IIT Kharagpur is an excellent opportunity for anyone that will change your personality forever.
NIRF rankings are not the sole factor that determines an institute's worth and credibility
Usually, rankings systems evaluate an Institute based on aspects such as international students, international faculty, and research which don’t matter much for a UG student.
Even without the JEE, IIT Bombay has always been a much more preferred IIT than Madras mainly because of its location advantage and thus excellent opportunities.
IIT Bombay is preferred because of herd mentality as most JEE toppers consider only IIT Bombay worthy of their rank. It’s like because that has been the usual trend, they have to follow it. In reality, IIT Madras has its share of toppers though the numbers might be less in comparison to IIT Bombay.
IIM Indore has more merits than demerits.
Merits
The only disadvantage that IIM Indore has or that of any other IIM is the high fees. But if you compare it with the high package you will be offered once you complete the course the fees are really worth it.
No, you won’t receive any refund if you pass the revaluation at JNTUH. However, if you are confident that you should have passed the exam, and you still fail the revaluation, you can go for the challenging revaluation. However, you will need to pay 10,000 rupees for the same.
You will receive the xerox of your answer sheet during the challenging revaluation at JNTUH. If you pass during this, you can claim a refund on the entire cost of both revaluations. But there is a catch. You can claim the refund only if your marks get increased by 15%.
But you can not claim a refund for the revaluation at JNTUH even if you pass.
The integrated BS-MS 8’ Physics program offered at IIT Madras is a dual degree in reality. The program is a great success because it is under the umbrella of IIT Madras' excellent Physics department. This department is affiliated with CERN and LIGO and has approachable professors and a friendly ambiance for study.
One has to clear JEE to become eligible for this program. The cutoff keeps changing and this program has a small batch size of around 10-15 students. The small batch size is because the program has been newly launched and is still yet to be made known.
The peer group has geniuses from every culture and academic background. IMT might be a rank holder in Karnataka CET while the other may be a 98% in class 12th. There are dynamic discussions among the students and it’s more than one can ask for.
Additional features include INSPIRE scholarship of around INR 60000/- year. You even get the golden opportunity to attend the KVPY Vijyoshi camp.
Ultimately, this program is a dream come true for Physics lovers and is a better option than Engineering for them.
Unlike most Engineering colleges, BIT Mesra follows the absolute grading system instead of the relative grading system. In the relative grading system, grading is done relative to the marks of the subject topper, who gets a 10 for that subject.
For a 10 CGPA in a subject at BIT Mesra, you must score 90 marks or above in it. It is a bit challenging to score marks in certain subjects. Getting a 9 CGPA is going to be tougher than you think. Only around 2 to 4 B.Tech students from a batch of around 700 are able to score that high.
However, you must not get disheartened or lose hope. If you study diligently and seek the guidance of your seniors and teachers, you can be one of those few high achievers.
