Is it worth joining IIT Jodhpur for MTech EE ? How are the placements?

SR
Sayantan Ray Posted On : July 27th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) (Graduated 2021)

Whether joining IIT Jodhpur is worth it or not depends on individual expectations and prospects. Like any other Institute, it does not guarantee placements in any company. I can only offer you an insight, the test depends on your perception of the same.

  • The faculty of the Electrical Department of IIT Jodhpur is highly learned and experienced in their respective fields
  • The electrical department has well-equipped laboratories and modern equipment and systems required for research work.
  • The placement scenario is decent and the highest CTC ranges from 12-15 LPA. A few recruiters who visited in the past to recruit students were INTEL, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, KEC International Ltd., and Vehicles Ltd. Most of the packages offered by these companies were below 10 LPA.
  • IIT Jodhpur has recently shifted to a new campus so its infrastructure and campus facilities have improved.

Ultimately, it’s you who can drive whether joining IIT Jodhpur is worth it or not.

Do we need to submit all subject assignments in IGNOU?

AA
Aman Arora Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
MA in English (College Major), Indira Gandhi National Open university

IGNOU assignments are a significant part of tour assessments carrying a weightage of 30%. Also if you are a distance learner it’s your tool to facilitate 2-way communication between teacher and learner.

While writing assignments, make sure to save a copy with you while studying for your term-end examinations.

If you get the invigilator's comments on your assignments, contact your invigilator for the details. Distance learning is all about your eagerness to learn. Contact your invigilator for details in the comments. This will also develop a good bond between you two.

Lastly, collect your checked assignments before you appear for exams. Going through them will help you answer the questions better.

I got 91% in 12th board, does taking admission in UIT rgpv for EC engineering is a good decision? I am asking this because I heard that there is no study in uit rgpv and worst placement.

SG
Saurav Gupta Posted On : August 20th, 2021
B.E. in ECE, University Institute of Technology, RGPV (2019)

I know a few people from RGPV, and based on what I heard from them, I will say that it’s true that academics are not up to the mark at the institute. During semester exams, students use the Shivani book to pass the following technical courses (which includes questions from the previous 20 years). This prevents you from building up concepts.

Now the placement of the institute is also not that good. The recent placement statistics for the institute are as follows.

Institutes  UIT RGPV
Average CTC  3 LPA
Highest CTC  8 LPA
Top recruiters  Cognizant, Amazon, TCS

Spending four years in RGPV with a 91 percent grade in class 12th would be a waste of time and effort. So, rather than doing B.E. from RGPV, It would be advised to pursue any other option if you are planning to pursue Engineering in the EC branch.

What are the pros and cons of doing an MBBS from VMMC?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 25th, 2023

The truth is I couldn't find a single con of joining VMMC for MBBS. That being said, there are a number of pros of doing an MBBS from VMMC. A few have been listed below

  • UG: PG ratio is great. This can further be understood through the following analogy. For MD Medicine, a general category student needs less than 9000 rank via IPU Quota but for MAMC, you need 300 AIR for the same subject via DU quota.
  • The institute has some of the most educated and experienced professors, the most famous being Dr. Chintamani, a big shot in surgery.
  • VMMC is also famous for its Central Institute of Orthopedics and its amazing Sports Injury Centre
  • They recently built the new SuperSpeciality block and the new Emergency block. The infrastructure is state-of-the-art, even better than many private hospitals.
  • The crowd of students is extremely passionate and is driven by their desire to excel in the field.

You will have an amazing life here both academically and non-academically.

What is the course: electronics and computer science engineering at KIIT?

AD
Ananya Dasgupta Posted On : July 25th, 2023
Studied at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)

As a reflection of the sheep mentality, the majority of engineering aspirants can be seen running after CS or IT. However, I will suggest you also give preference to your interests first.

Electronics and Computer Science Engineering is a recently launched branch at KIIT and is actually great. Not many batches have passed out yet, but the branch seems promising like any other branch at KIIT.

  • In the first year, the same foundation courses are taught that are common in all the branches. These include Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electronics, Engineering Mechanics, etc.
  • From the second year, you will be intrigued by the ECE concepts. Out of the overall curriculum, approximately 55% weightage is given to electronics subjects and 45% weightage is given to CS subjects.
  • From what I have heard, the subjects taught to ECE are easier than the subjects taught to CS and Electronics students individually.

In all, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering is a decent choice especially if you are interested in the field. However, if you are still aiming for CS, then you can opt for a branch change after one year. The cut-off for branch change is 8.5 CGPA but to get into CS you will need around 9.2+ and 8.9 or more for IT.

How is DTU for outside Delhi students, and is there any north-south feeling at a prestigious university like DTU or NSUT? I hope there won't be any such feeling.

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : July 6th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

DTU is a great college not only for Delhiites but students of North India as a whole. DTU has a diverse student crowd and welcomes students from all states, NRI students, and students from all over Asia and Africa. It’s hard to get any North-South feeling here especially when there is such great harmony between juniors and seniors. The professors also try their best to give individual attention to each student and are quite approachable. There is no such language barrier also as most professors are bilingual and try to deliver lectures in both Hindi and English.

DTU is a place where you will make friends irrespective of their cultural backgrounds. It’s the common interest and passions that bring the huge crown together.

If anything, I feel Outside Delhi students have the advantage of becoming a hosteller which in itself is a unique experience. They will be missing out on all the fun such as visiting the sports complex late at night, roaming around the campus late at night, and fully participating in organizing the fest.

How is IT engineering at NIT Surathkal?

LS
Lavanya Sinha Posted On : September 15th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal

As a student of IT engineering at NIT Surathkal, I am listing down certain facts about my department and my college-

  • Faculty- The faculty members of the IT Department are experienced and well-learned. The teachers of NITK are all Phd. holders.
  • Academics- NITK prioritizes its academics above everything else. From second year onwards, you’ll have to choose your minor, regardless of your discipline. From the third year, there is a provision for Honors to help you understand your field in depth. It is helpful for those planning for an MS from top US colleges.

The college follows a relative grading system.

  • Infrastructure- The infrastructure of NITK is top notch. The lT labs are well equipped and well maintained. The entire 300 acre campus has access to free Wifi.
  • Library- The IT department has its own library, alongside the college’s central library. The central library contains 1.2 Lakh+ books with full air conditioned rooms.
  • Campus Life and Peers- The campus life is great. The 300 acre campus is lush green with a beach of its own. As NITK is the third most preferred college of top rankers in JEE Mains, the college crowd is made of brilliant people.
  • Coding Culture- The college has a good coding culture. Its students make it to GSoC in good numbers every year. It ranks quite high globally in terms of the number of NITK students who qualify GSoC each year.
  • Placements- The placements are top-notch for IT students. NIT Surathkal is located pretty close to Bangalore, which is the IT hub of our country. Because of its suitable location, IT students get placement offers from top brands. During 2022, the highest package for the IT department touched INR 45 LPA.

Thus, NIT Surathkal is a good choice to pursue your IT engineering.

What was your experience as a project associate at IIT Madras?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : March 28th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Before I tell you about my brother's experience as a project associate, let me shed some light on who exactly a project associate is and how is he/she selected.

The projects at IITs are funded by external bodies and are usually assigned to a Principal Investigator (PI), who has contributed majorly to the commencement of the collaborated project. This PI is usually a professor of IIT who selects students that he deems suitable to work on that project. Those who are already IITians are given the title of Project Associate. To get selected, one must check the official website for faculty and their research work. Contact the professor whose research work aligns with your interests and give a short interview before the final selection.

As a project associate, my brother was given flexibility in working hours and continuous assistance from the professors. The labs had great computational and experimental resources and made the experience easier than expected. His team had to send annual or binaural reports to the company funding his project as a part of the update. Accommodation and food would be provided by the institute itself with the permission of your professor else you will have to make arrangements outside.

It's important to note that this experience may vary from lab to lab and also your faculty advisor.
