JEE Advanced 2020 will be conducted on August 23, 2020 as announced by MHRD Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal on May 7. The exam has been postponed in line with the postponement of JEE Main which is scheduled to be conducted in July 2020. It is after the declaration of JEE Advanced Results that JEE Advanced Rank List is prepared.
- To participate in the exam, the candidates need to fulfil the JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria decided by the exam convener authorities.
- Through JEE Advanced, the candidates will get admission to IITs and ISM. The application number and date of birth has to be submitted by the candidates to access the JEE Advanced 2019 rank list/ rank card.
- The counselling will be held through JoSAA and seat allotment process will begin after it, dates for which will be notified soon.

- Total number of 161319 candidates appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2019 held on May 27, 2019.
- 38705 candidates qualified JEE Advanced 2019, out of which 33349 were male candidates and 5356 were female candidates.
- Gupta Kartikey Chandresh of Ballarpur (Maharashtra) was the JEE Advanced 2019 topper in Common Rank List (CRL) who obtained 346 marks out of 372.
- Shabnam Sahay of Madhapur (Hyderabad) was the JEE Advanced 2019 topper among female candidates with CRL 10 and obtained 308 marks out of 372.

Tie Breaking in JEE Advanced 2020
If the aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates in JEE Advanced are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding the ranks. Complete details are given below.
Step 1: Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank.
If the tie-breaking criterion at Step 1 fails to break the tie, then the following criterion will be followed.
Step 2: Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics.
If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics.
If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
