What do you think are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Assisting academic growth of students”

I believe my key responsibilities to the students include planning lessons according to the curriculum standards, stay updated with the latest IT trends and keep my students updated regarding it too. I monitor student progress through administering assignments, quizzes and tests, and keep track of student grades and help them improve them. My key role is to be a teacher and a friend to my students and help them at every point during their academic careers.

How do you help your students to cope up with the high competition outside?

“Proper guidance and healthy atmosphere”

By keeping a positive environment where the students feel that they can easily share their views and problems, I guide them to handle situations more patiently. Also, I advise them to create a list of their actions and their consequences beforehand, so that when the actual problems occur they find themselves ready to face them. Most importantly, counselling them to believe in themselves and know that failure and success are two sides of the same coin so they should never have a negative impact of any failure on themselves.

How is your college more welcoming to students of different backgrounds?

“Scholarship scheme and equality maintenance”

I am elated to tell you that we have a very good strength of the students from the economically weaker sections of the society. Our college itself does not provide scholarships, but through AKTU we help the economically weaker students in procuring scholarships for their education. Our students have got scholarships upto Rs.97,000 per year with the help of our administrations. The students get these scholarships irrespective of whether they are from upper caste or lower caste. There are scholarships for the diverse categories as per government norms as well. Students from different backgrounds and ethnicities all sit together in a single classroom and gain knowledge from our teachers and we do not discriminate between students on any basis.

What challenges do you face to uplift the quality of education at your department?

“Sufficient study and practical resources”

I would term it more like a concern rather than a challenge that optimum study materials are available with the students so that they can understand a particular concept well enough. Practical aspects of a topic must be clear to them and ensuring that the students get the best possible knowledge from our side is the challenge in itself. We help them believe that they need not wander around other sources for knowledge as the study materials which are provided to them are sufficient for gaining the required knowledge about the subject.

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?

“Full potential growth of each and every student”

We at our college focus on the overall development of the students. We organize a number of quiz competitions, exhibitions, seminars, conferences, mock drills, debates, etc. We have 6-7 clubs for the various extra-curricular activities such as singing, dancing, drama, quizzes, etc. which are essential for the grooming and holistic development of a student. We also focus on the placements of the students by organizing mock sessions for group discussion, interviews which help them get acclimated to the placement process.

How do you help the students to gain the necessary skills?

“Practical focus and additional learning”

In IT, the practical aspect is very important so the vision that I have is also very practical, that my students are able to understand their department very well and they become the best versions of themselves. I do my best to help them and achieve the same with the help of the course curriculum, practical sessions, etc. Our library has a wide collection of books and journals which are updated regularly as per the latest industry trends and thus our students are always aware of the recent developments in the industry and they turn out to be very good professionals when they graduate.
