Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) formerly known as UP Technical University (UPTU) is one of the premier and largest technical universities in India established in 2000. AKTU Admission 2024
Admissions at the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University for UG and PG courses are based on the CUET entrance test. The university also accepts JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions and counselling will be done through UPTAC. Admission to UG courses such as B.Pharm/ BHMCT/ BFAD/ BFA/ B.Des/ B.Voc will be based on CUET UG exam, conducted by NTA. Candidates seeking admission to PG courses such as M.Tech/ M.Des/ M.Pharm/ MCA/ M.Arch/ M.Plan/ MURP are required to appear in the CUET PG examination. While MBA admissions wil be based on CMAT/ CUET PG/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA scores followed by a GD/PI round conducted by the university. For admission to AKTU Ph.D. programs, the institution conducts a separate research-based entrance test followed by a personal interview round for the shortlisted candidates.
AKTU Counselling 2024
AKTU Counselling is done by UPTAC. Students interested in taking admission to AKTU must register for UPTAC counselling based on merit in CUET UG/ CUET PG/ JEE Main/ NATA/ CMAT or any other examination accepted by the institute.
Step 1: To apply for AKTU counselling, aspirants need to register themselves on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling i.e uptac.admissions.nic.in by entering their application number and password. After successful registration, candidates need to upload the required personal and academic details.
Step 2: After uploading the required documents, candidates are required to pay the counseling fees of INR 1,000.
Step 3: Once the documents are uploaded, the documents will be verified by the Central Document Verification Team. After successful verification, an email/ SMS will be sent to the aspirants as a receipt.
Step 4: After verification, aspirants need to log in to the official site by entering their login credentials to access the choice filling section and fill in their choice of institutions (AKTU) and branches in the order of priority.
Step 5: On the basis of choice filling, the authorities will release the result of seat allotment in online mode.
Step 6: Once the seat allotment is done, aspirants will have the option to Float or Freeze the allotted seat, for which they have to pay a seat acceptance fee.
Step 7: After accepting the seat and submitting the fee payment, candidates need to report to the allotted college within the specific time period with all the required documents and complete their admission process.

Admission:
During my Counseling,I was getting REC Sonbhadra and REC Kannauj. I chose REC kannauj because it has got experienced Faculty from IIT and NIT. Also, the infrastructure abd other facilities were the reason why i opted for this college. Initially the admissions were done by the marks obtained in UPSEE Examinations. But now, JEE Mains ranks are considered. You can easily get admission in this college even if your rank is 1,00,000+ in JEE Mains through JOSAA counseling. The admission process is in offline mode only. So, you'll have to visit the campus to get the registration done for the admission.
Admission:
I chose this college because firstly i was getting the course which i wanted, I wanted to pursue MBA with business analytics which i was not getting anywhere else at this price secondly the fees is affordable for me as compared to other colleges like LPU where i would have to pay 14 lakhs approximately and here i got the same course with same specialisation in 3.6 lakhs and lastly placements this college has very good placements for MBA Business Analytics which is better than LPU at this price apart from got selected in Galgotiyas University but i was not not getting business analytics specialisation therefore I selected GNIOT to pursue my masters and it was the best option for me.
Admission:
I choose my college because of its goodwill in the whole city. My college is being known for its dicipline , knowledge and architecture. School of management sciences,college is very different from other colleges ,the other colleges student are very less interested in studies but in my college studies are been focused more rather than the other activities. I applied in Lucknow University also and I also got selected there but it's late and i already took the admission in the SMS ,college .The admission process of my college is on examination basis and also If the seats left then on registration process. I applied in the main aktu campus, main means my current college is affiliated with Aktu but I also applied in Abdul Kalam technical university, but there i wasn't selected the seats were full as I applied there and it was too late till then. And then I choose the SMS College because it was so known college in my area and it's placements are so good. The was selected in my college through registration only , one of my known is in the college so he help me in the complete admission process.

During my Counseling,I was getting REC Sonbhadra and REC Kannauj. I chose REC kannauj because it has got experienced Faculty from IIT and NIT. Also, the infrastructure abd other facilities were the reason why i opted for this college. Initially the admissions were done by the marks obtained in UPSEE Examinations. But now, JEE Mains ranks are considered. You can easily get admission in this college even if your rank is 1,00,000+ in JEE Mains through JOSAA counseling. The admission process is in offline mode only. So, you'll have to visit the campus to get the registration done for the admission.

I chose this college because firstly i was getting the course which i wanted, I wanted to pursue MBA with business analytics which i was not getting anywhere else at this price secondly the fees is affordable for me as compared to other colleges like LPU where i would have to pay 14 lakhs approximately and here i got the same course with same specialisation in 3.6 lakhs and lastly placements this college has very good placements for MBA Business Analytics which is better than LPU at this price apart from got selected in Galgotiyas University but i was not not getting business analytics specialisation therefore I selected GNIOT to pursue my masters and it was the best option for me.

I choose my college because of its goodwill in the whole city. My college is being known for its dicipline , knowledge and architecture. School of management sciences,college is very different from other colleges ,the other colleges student are very less interested in studies but in my college studies are been focused more rather than the other activities. I applied in Lucknow University also and I also got selected there but it's late and i already took the admission in the SMS ,college .The admission process of my college is on examination basis and also If the seats left then on registration process. What are the “year-back” criteria in AKTU?
At AKTU, the year-back criteria are pretty simple. You are likely to get a year back in any of the following situations:

If in a single year, you have back 6 subjects

If you score below 30 in 6 subjects in a year
-
If you fail any practical exam

If you do not appear for a practical exam

If you are accused of UFM or unfair means like cheating to pass an exam
Any of the above situations will result in a year back. Try to avoid this as much as possible because it will become very hectic for you.
What is “internal back” in AKTU?
The internal back is a warning given by your teachers to score well in external exams. Otherwise, you might get a year back. This is actually for the students who have failed internal exams. They then focus more on their external exams to compensate for the low marks in internal exams. . Say you have got 20 marks in the Internal Exam, so you are 10 marks short of passing. By scoring at least 40 marks in External you can ensure that you pass the subject.
Some situations that result in the internal back are as follows:

What happens if a UFM is showing on an AKTU result?
UFM or Unfair Means is when you have tried to use unfair means such as chits, gadgets, or some other mode to score marks in a particular subject. Such a situation can result in many scenarios:

The result will be paused and postponed till the administration takes an action to solve the matter.

Contact your Institute Director. He will ask you to write a letter detailing your viewpoint regarding the offense that has been made against you.

You will write a letter to the Examination Controller of AKTU and tell him why you were caught using unfair means. Send the printout of your semester results along with this letter.

The entire situation will be closely investigated by the UFM committee of AKTU.

There will be two results to their verdict. Either you are guilty of UFM during exams or you are innocent and have been falsely accused through some conspiracy.
While you apply for this process there are some very important points you need to consider:

Apologize to the committee and say you won’t repeat the mistake. If you say you are innocent, you can get Carry Over(CP) in 4 subjects. This will impact your result very poorly.

Don't try to use any source of AKTU staff or any employee to recommend you for pardoning from the UFM case. This might in turn harm the entire situation. Handle the situation according to the process.

How is AKTU for B.Tech?
One of my cousins is a student at AKTU (Abdul Kalam Technical University). She shared an incident with me which will give you an idea of this university.
During her semester exams at AKTU, she faced a challenging experience. Compiler Design is a subject in the 6th semester of B.Tech. Computer Science. On her compiler design exam day, the question papers were distributed 15 minutes late. It was a regular exam for the new semester. But what she saw shocked her. On the top, it was mentioned - Carry Over Theory Paper Examination. This was a back paper for students who are reappearing and not for regular students. Sometime later a teacher made them change the code of the paper and subjects. All the students were in a panic.
So if you are planning to pursue B.Tech. from AKTU, you should brace yourself for some major challenges.
What are the passing criteria for in the AKTU semester?
AKTU passing criteria in a semester is
- 30 out of 100
- 15 out of 50
This is only for the external exams.
For internal exams, you need to score more than 30 out of 50. If you happen to have a back in any subject of 100 marks or 50 marks then you will get grace marks of 10 and 5 respectively. However, this accounts for the whole year and not just a single semester.
What is the carryover examination process for pass out students at AKTU Does it take place semester wise?
How can I remove a backlog in AKTU? Is there a marked over result if I cleared it?
If you have a backlog in a semester, you need to fill out a carryover form and retake the examination for that subject with your juniors. For odd semester subjects, you need to appear in the next odd semester and for even semester subjects, you need to appear in the next even semester.
After you clear the backlog, AKTU will issue a new marksheet. The final result will show pass.
How can I get my degree from AKTU Lucknow? What is the procedure there?
The degrees of all the courses either graduate or postgraduate in AKTU are distributed during the Convocation Ceremony of the respective colleges. There is a chance that your college did not conduct such a ceremony. In this case, the degrees are usually sent to the respective colleges which are kept there for around 2 years. After this, the degrees are sent back to AKTU, Lucknow.
To get your degree then the only option left is to visit AKTU personally and submit an application detailing your issue along with essential documents like mark sheets and your ID card. The Vice-Chancellor of AKTU is Mr. Vinay Kumar Pathak. He will help you in this matter. Go to his office and submit the documents and soon your degree will be handed over to you.
Are NPTEL courses compulsory for B.Tech AKTU?
No, NPTEL courses are not compulsory for B.Tech. In AKTU. These courses simply aim at adding qualitative knowledge among the students. In addition, every NPTEL course grants you extra 3 credits. If you are lagging behind in B.Tech. courses then NPTEL courses will definitely help you compensate for the loss.
So it can be said that for. B.Tech. student NPTEL courses are highly recommended but not compulsory.
Does APJ AKTU refund money after a challenge evaluation in semester exams? If yes, then what is the procedure?
Getting a refund is only possible if your marks are increased by more than 20%. In the new procedure, the university will evaluate your sheets by themselves, probably in front of the student.
You will receive a refund of INR 10,000 which is double the amount you have paid. The amount will be credited to your bank account after the results of the challenge evaluations are announced.
Lastly, filing for the challenge evaluation is a very simple process. You need to fill in the details and make the payments. You can do it online or through your college.
