Dr. Meenal Bafna is currently serving with Agrawal P.G. College, Jaipur as Head, Department of Physics. She has been an effective pedagogue for postgraduates and undergraduate programs for the last twenty-three years. She is an executive member of IAPT R.C -6 and has organized various seminars and workshops in various colleges. She has handled various administrative responsibilities in the college including being Dean, Faculty of Sciences, and Vice President, Women Cell.

How do you plan activities and programs to enhance the skills of the students?

‘The conceptual learning with overall conveniences for the eminent understanding of the subject”

I ensure that classes and lab facilities are given following the prescribed syllabus. Besides regular classes, I emphasize the organization of lots of activities like guest lecturers of eminent academicians, workshops, symposiums, seminars, etc. to bring the best out of the students. The department is committed to set a benchmark to provide its students with overall exposure. I ensure that the students enrich with their level of understanding that is conceptual, visualizing the topic and finally understanding the results of the experiments and observations they make; their problem-solving ability is cultivated, and importantly their ability to communicate and symbolically manipulate the concepts is mentored.

We insist every student at least submit one dissertation and research paper on their field of education. Think innovatively about a scientific activity and can design an experiment for it.[Workshops on Fabrication of devices (Multivibrators/ A2D D2A Conversion/ RC Coupled Amplifier/ Oscillators/ Solar Energy Converter/ Li-Fi Audio Transmission ) is organized for that purpose.


What is the future scope of this course from your institution?

The arena of School lecturer, Scientist the government jobs, college professor, lab technician are some particular prospects of the course. The college has a settled placement cell for placements and internship experiences for training and work experience. Designing of optical components of the machinery is also a great opportunity as an optical engineer. The course we have initiated in our institute for phasing the new arenas of jobs and industries.

Physics is an interesting subject that has exciting career opportunities for passion. I would suggest today’s youth to just not merely run after to acquire a degree, rather should take all the pains to learn the required skills, comprehend the concepts, grill yourself with the experimental exposures available, diligently and devotedly learn at this stage. Because a degree will simply add to your qualifications but hands-on training and experience with skills would add value to your life’s experiences.
