What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To make our students not only good engineers but citizens too”

Being the Director, I believe my primary responsibility is to provide every student with an opportunity to grow into a well-educated, good citizen, who could contribute to the progress of the nation. In the changing times, what I aim at is to make them see the reality beyond the plethora of fake news and confusing information.

What keeps you connected with the education sector?

“The feeling of satisfaction and learning opportunities this field offers”

While I started my career, from the beginning itself I knew that I am going to be in the education sector, as this is one of the fields that gives you so much opportunity to learn and grow. And if I talk about the reasons behind this strong connection with the education sector, first is that when I interact with children, I get to know and learn so many things. Also, I need to upgrade myself to have in sync with them. The second reason is the peace of mind that this profession brings. As far as my experience is concerned, I have given over 35 years of my life to this institute, which speaks volumes about the kind of organization it is, the love, the environment it provides and what it has given to me.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“A true leader stay committed towards his words and actions”

I believe that a true leader leads by example. In other words, if you don’t stay committed to your words and norms, you can’t expect your team to follow your instructions. The second characteristic is that you should learn to trust the team and have faith in them, to hold on to your team when they fail, to appreciate and motivate them when they achieve their goals.

How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your college?

“We don’t rely much on print media, rather our education quality and results speak much louder”

I especially consider the lessons which we have learned via previous such programs when I strategize new techniques. We use planning on drawing boards and mark our strategies. And after rigorous consultation with all my faculties and department heads, I chose that path that fits into our budget and simultaneously helps us to increase our reach to more and more students. Instead of emphasizing more on newspapers, pamphlets and brochures, we believe in showcasing our uniqueness through our good academic results, good facilities for research and innovation.

What benefits a student can gain from studying here in your institute?

“We offer all facilities to grow and attend students' concerns on an individual basis”

We believe in the fact that every child is a gift and his/her worth needs can be unwrapped with special attention, care and education. Therefore, we allow our students to explore their talent on their own and we do provide every kind of support ranging from training, special classes and individual-based consultation. We provide them an open environment where they can speak freely and can be listened to.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of the industry?

Involvement of industry experts and Alumni’s ensure this”

We design our curriculum in such a way that it allows every student to prosper, not just in studies, but also with respect to overall personality development. And to ensure this, we have adopted a feedback mechanism where we take suggestions from our industry partners, faculties, Alumni’s and students, and if required necessary changes are done in the curriculum as per industry demands and students' needs.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To develop more research opportunities for students and teachers”

I would like to acknowledge that despite having good infrastructure and good faculties, what lacks is the innovation and research opportunities, and this is the story of almost every institute, be it an IIT or MIIT. Hence we should be focused on bringing more research and development windows to our institute so that everyone can contribute their best in solving some real-world issues.

Anything would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

“Best faculties from all over India are part of us”

Our uniqueness lies in the fact that we have got excellent teachers and innovative opportunities for our students. Because, faculties make us stand apart from the crowd through their hard work, dedication and support and students by securing good marks in exams and jobs in the industry.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of BIT?

“Our whole BIT team is our strength”

We all are a team, and everyone’s contribution matters equally for our growth. Thus, every stakeholder, from top management to teachers, students and staff who works with us and for us makes us strong. I believe, an institute is not built by four walls, an institute is as good as its teachers and the necessary facilities.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for the education sector in general?

“To keep pace with the unpredictable and changing world”

After my experience with this pandemic era, I am sure that the world would always be divided into two parts now, the pre-pandemic world and the post-pandemic world because it has changed every dynamic in every field. Therefore, the biggest challenge the world and we in particular are facing and going to face in the coming years is to keep themselves updated and ready for unexpected future changes.

What are some plans that you’re currently designing for students of your college?

“To make online classes and projects available for every student”

I am planning to ensure the accessibility of online classes for every student along with more research projects that would generate more funds to help our organization grow.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Explore your skills and be more productive”

I would like to advise our youths that you are a bundle of innovation and ideas, know your worth and develop the necessary skills to achieve your goals. Use your time effectively and spend less time in the non-sense things like gaming and social media, instead use those digital devices to explore the positive side of this growing and changing world.
