Professor Dr. Srinivas R. Gangidiis

Professor Dr. Srinivas R. Gangidi is currently working as the Dean of Aurora Business School.  He holds M.A degree in Public Administration from Osmania University and Ph. D. degree in Public Administration from Kakatiya University. He has 46 years of experience covering service at two reputed universities, two renowned research institutes, a leading Engineering College and a Business School. He has held many administrative positions in the university hierarchy such as Head of the Department, Chairman Board of Studies, Dean of the Faculty, Controller of Examination, Registrar and In-charge Vice-Chancellor of University accredited with ‘A’ Grade.

Dr. Gangidi has 144 publications (27 books/edited volumes plus 117 articles) in national and international journals and in books and edited volumes. He is currently editing a quarterly management journal and two other monthly publications. He has worked in teaching, research, training and extension organizations of national and international repute. He has organized scores of Faculty Development Programs, Seminars, Conferences, Symposia and Training Programs.

Student-industry interaction at ABS is secured through industry visits in India and abroad, 100%summer internship placements, guest lectures by business executives, MOUs with leading companies, industry placements, placement cell activities, industry-institute interfaces, student membership of professional associations, etc. We are constantly scouting for opportunities to enhance this interaction. We are seeking to lengthen and deepen this interaction.

How the Dean manages his time

Indeed there is much pressure on Dean’s time. I am able to manage this through the planning of time, fitness regimen and keeping timelines for everything. I seek feedback on my work and try to cut redundancies. 

Indian education system still needs to improve as compared to the developed countries’ education system

Indian education system is seen in poor condition when compared with the education system in the developed countries. The major difference between students of business management in India and the developed countries is that our students prosecute studies with their parent’s money whereas those in the west pay for their own studies and hence behave responsibly. The faculty in Indian business schools do not have the interdisciplinary depth as those in the west. Further,

in our education system faculty works more than the students.
