Dr. Archana Nimkar is working as a HOD in Applied Chemistry at Ballarpur Institute of Technology. She has done M.Sc. in Chemistry, M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Ph.D. in Chemistry and M. Phil in Biochemistry. She did her undergraduate in B.A. in English Literature and Diploma in Pharmacy. She has been awarded academic awards including Best Planning for Academic’s Award in 2017 and Best Teacher Award in 2019. She has worked as Ballarpur Examination Coordinator Chairperson of Women's Grievance Cell, Expert Lecturer. She has published 7 papers at International level and 5 Grants Fetched at National level.

Education sector is the only sector that gives you an opportunity to nurture talent that helps to build the future of the nation. Also it gives me an opportunity to learn new things and help me to upgrade myself to maintain pace with the ever changing world of science and technology.


What is your philosophy of leadership?

“I believe in teamwork”

I strongly believe that leadership is about team building, finding the strengths of team members, motivating them by setting an example to be followed to achieve goals by executing the planning in a disciplined way. I do my best to build a strong team and execute plans in a very strategic way that can bring best for everyone.

Our College is located in remote and rural areas of Maharashtra. Here students come from nearby villages, residential colonies as well as from urban areas. In my opinion, I should be a good teacher, mentor and a leader so that I can play a key role in the overall growth of the institute. For students my role is to develop them as a skilled professional who can cater to the needs of the industries.

We have defined various strategic priorities for the upcoming 10 years and those are: We will be continuing to offer a high quality education at a competitive price. We would also ensure long-term financial vitality by developing a reasonable, sustainable but progressive budget and using revenue sources that adequately fund the core mission. And the last objective for us would be to attract qualified faculties and staff from a wider geographical area with reasonable compensation to retain them.

Today’s learners prefer the learning environment that pushes their learning capacity with altering strategies and teaching practices. To develop the same, I try to establish a supportive learning culture and try my best to address Learners’ Needs. I also keep on receiving and giving positive feedback to make the environment healthy. I keep an open door policy for my students at all levels.
