Internships Opportunities:

There is no dedicated summer internship program in the college. Any and all internships have to be procured by the student alone on their own time and effort by personally reaching out to companies. There is no data regarding the internships offered to students as it is a very individual case and the college plays no role in it. For Computer Science Engineering, The preferred companies include Google, Microsoft, Amazon. Infosys, TCS, Accenture to name a few. These companies are either product or service based and rely heavily on programmers and engineers to refine, fix and develop new products for their clients. They specifically require engineers who are proficient programmers with real world experience like internships or projects to help build their products and services better. At our college, The mass recruiter is TCS at an average package of 3.6 LPA or 30,000 per month roughly. There have been no reports of any Pre-placement offers being handed to interns as the majority directly sit for placements instead of interning first. Internship scenario is not as strong in general and it is even more bleak for branches other than CSE with the students facing the same struggles but with lesser oppurtunities.

Internships Opportunities:

Sreyas Institute of Engineering and Technology does not have a systematic summer internship programme; the students themselves take most of the internships without any facilitation by the college placement cell. Typically, personal networks, online job portals and referrals help in coming across such opportunities. Although the 100% placement rate cannot be sustained during the summer period, a positive number of students have alternative placement opportunities available to them. Paid internships are overall very effective, and the stipends vary but are mostly in the range of INR 5,000 to INR 20,000 per month depending on the company and position. Some students have also got stipends as high as INR 40,000, especially from more prominent companies. The internships that students prefer are always with good companies in the technology industry, like TCS and Infosys. Other startups are also popular for the exposure to learning. Usually, such companies hire in bulk, but most of the other internships are self-initiated and therefore representative of the active seek to gain hands-on experience. The engineering students generally have more favorable internship scenario compared with students from other subjects. This is due to a huge demand for talented people in the industry.(BLANK PHOTO UPLOADED)

Internships Opportunities:

Summer internships are not conducted at Sreyas. Therefore, it is completely up to the students to take self-initiated independent internship, which may be really challenging because it necessitates proactive efforts on the part of the students while seeking opportunities available through online job portals, networking events, and personal contacts in the industry. This means that the percentage of students who have reportedly secured internships is pretty patchy, and many would not get a hold by summer. Several students do not get formal internships; end up with self-directed projects, freelance work or online courses as a way of filling the gap during summer while spending time boosting their skills and portfolio. Since there is no set placement process, even the availability of paid internships is variable. While some students get paid internships, others work as unpaid interns or in unpaid projects that would still give them experience. The stipends for the very few paid internships are highly variable, some bringing as much as 10,000 INR per month, while others are unpaid. In regards to the popular companies, students seem to focus on locally based startups or business in their area of interest; again, however, with the fact that the college is not directly involved in any placement process, it really is very unpredictable. The case is also much the same for other courses in terms of internships, and they too are not an official program; as such, the students appear to have to go it alone on internship.(BLANK PICTURE UPLOADED)
