The institute offers admission to the 4 years B.Tech courses under 7 specializations. Higher Secondary examination qualified will be eligible for admission.

Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination followed by the CENTAC counseling.

Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology - [MVIT] offers admission in B.Tech program for four years in various streams mentioned below:

• Mechanical Engineering (MECH)
• Robotics and Automation
• Food Technology

Eligibility Criteria

Admissions to these programs will be done on the basis of eligibility and selection criteria set by the college. 

• Candidates must have passed higher Secondary examination of the (10+2) or any other examination equivalent there to with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/ MBC and SC/ST candidates) in aggregate.
• Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry /Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology (Botany & Zoology) or an examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.
• The upper age limit to pursue the course is 21 years as on 1st July of the academic year while the relaxation of 3 years is being offered to the candidates belonging to OBC/ SC and ST categories.

Selection Criteria

Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and counseling i.e, CENTAC.

The institute invites applications for admission to the 2 years M.Tech course under 2 specializations and students who have a graduation degree examination will be eligible for admission.

Admission to M.Tech will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should have passed B.E /B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Communication Engineering / / Computer Science/ Telecommunication Engineering / Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent examination 
• 55% marks in the degree examination or equivalent CGPA. 
• There is no upper age limit to pursue M.Tech.

MVIT offers admission to the MBA course with an intake of 60. Graduation degree holders in any subject can apply for admission.

Eligibility Criteria

• The eligibility criteria to pursue MBA at MVIT is that the candidate must be a graduate of any discipline under 10 + 2 + 3 systems from any reputed and recognized University.
• Minimum of 50% marks in part III in the case of Arts Science degree / minimum of 50% marks in applicable years of study of Engineering or other professional UG degrees. 
• For SC/ST candidates, just a pass is required.

Selection Criteria

Selection to MBA will be purely Merit Based.
