CSE from VIT Vellore is the better option. In fact, after IIITs and BITS, it is considered best for the CS domain. The video below will give you an honest review of VIT Vellore
If you have a good command over Data Structure, Algorithm Design, and a bit of competitive coding, you can easily bag lucrative salary packages from reputed companies like Cisco, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. According to the placement highlights of recent years, VIT Vellore CSE average CTC stays around INR 7 LPA.
Haldia Institute of Technology will be of no help to you if you dream to be the best at coding and be proud of yourself as a CSE graduate in the future.
Despite all these, the students have made it to fortune 500 companies such as SAP Labs, Broadcom, Intel Security, Manhattan Associates. All the credits go to their hark-work and sheer determination.
College gives you a degree, it is you who with your hard work and determination, will make a great CSE graduate.
One of my friends completed his B.tech from the Haldia Institute of technology so, it would be easy for me to answer your question.
You can experience a diverse college environment as you will see every type of student on the campus. At the end of the day, it’s on you, how you really want to be and which group really suits you.
Information regarding management quota fees is not disclosed by the institute. However, according to some of my friends who acquired admissions in the institute through it, the fees of management quota are around 2 lacs- 2.5 lacs.
The management quota fees are dependent on your negotiator, agent, consultant too. The above-mentioned amount does not include the hostel fees. It is at the time of college fees payment that the students are required to pay the hostel fees. You should consult with your seniors as they have a better knowledge regarding such matters. Although they would suggest that it would be a waste of money.
If you are interested in software, only then you should take admission at Bangalore. A few esteemed software companies such as Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit for the recruitment process.
The chemical branch at the institute is terrific. You should look into this course once as well. Your decision is concerned with building your career therefore make sure you opt for a course that would not make you have regrets later.
It will be worth it to join Haldia Institute of Technology for CSE. A close friend of mine recently graduated from here and his experience was amazing. The placement record is more than 90% every year with companies like Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys visiting the campus.
Other companies like Tech Mahindra also recruit from HIT but they are not among the regular recruiters. If you have good knowledge of your branch and have great programming skills then you can easily get a package of more than 5 LPA.
The institute is located in the industrial belt but the exposure is a little less at Haldia Institute than in metropolitan cities. However, you will have an ample amount of free time which you can use to learn new skills.
Apart from the exposure, you will get everything at Haldia Institute including a peaceful and calm environment.
I have a few friends at the Haldia Institute of Technology and based on what I heard from them, I will suggest you to look for other options. Having a college campus in Kolkata will be advantageous for you.
You can get IT in Techno India salt-lake main campus. If you don’t get Techno you can go for CSE in B.P. Poddar, RCC or St. Thomas, or any other college. Follow previous year trends of opening and closing ranks of the college and make a choice accordingly.
Choosing the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Kolkata can be risky because it is newly established. Even though it is under the banner of IEM, you can’t be certain about placements. Going by the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA.
Both colleges are on par with one other in terms of faculty and academics. Both, Haldia Institute of Technology and Heritage Institute of Technology are approved by AICTE and private universities located in West Bengal. But if you are passionate about chemical engineering, aim for IITs.
Both colleges offer Bachelors in Technology in Chemical Engineering. Discussed below are some details about the Chemical Engineering courses offered by these two institutes.

About 7-8 years ago, all or most of the current faculty of the Heritage Institute of Technology used to be part of the Haldia institute of technology. So there is no big difference in the degrees offered by these two institutes. You only get different degree certificates from HIT and MAKAUT.
Above all, it is suggested to prepare for JEE so that you can choose a better or equivalent institute to IIT. Because college name matters.
The present scenario of the Computer Science and Engineering department at Haldia Institute is a bit better in comparison with that of the other departments.
Categories | CSE at Haldia Institute of Technology |
Course Fee | 3.95 lakh |
Highest CTC | 13-18 LPA |
Average CTC | 6-8 LPA |

Overall, the placement percent for the CS department ranges between 50 to 70 percent. If you get enrolled in the CSE department, the chances of you getting recruited by a reputable company would significantly be better than the other departments.
Haldia Institute of Technology is a good college with good value for money and lively campus life. It is excellent for the CSE program. However, it is entirely up to you how you utilize it. If you can do self-study and learn new things on your own, you will be very successful in any field.
Nevertheless, most recruiters come to the college for recruitment. Some local startups may also attend, but the package may not be as generous. It is advised that you do not wait for a company and instead go off-campus.
