Like I think because it is not very extremely high ranked, I think its quite minimal quite handled of course its challenging of course it does push you to your limits I think its much better pressure it does understand students needs its quite understanding in terms of how the situation is going on they really handled COVID well by not stressing out the students a lot.
I think they really value student satisfaction over anything they really tried to understand or really tried to help you in terms of fresher in terms of if you need some changing you know a lot of my friends if they didn't like courses it was quite easy to drop and find a new one instead of a long procedure where you know might scare students that I am not liking the class but then there is such a long procedure and I don't wanna drop the class now. So I think in terms of that they really try to be as helpful and as flexible as they can.
The competition is basically to score good and to come in the eye of your professor because after you complete your course, you need those literal recommendations for your masters, research and everything. So, competition is pretty high. Each class has either like 60 to maximum of 300 students.
$37,400
We get hands on knowledge of the subject and the faculty members that are there are researchers and are some of the best minds in their fields, they always provide us with fresh knowledge and perspective regarding the subjects. University also invite many guest lecturer.
$27 176 for full time course
Course curriculum was up to dated and relevant. We had to do more than 80 hours of work placement as a part of this course.
I love Science, and I also wanted to change my career. That's why I started studying Science.
I would say that the most prominent part about it is that it's designed in a way that it meets the industry requirements and standards because they are advised by them to specifically to do so, otherwise it might lead to a situation where a graduate is finding it hard to secure a job. Yes, you can get some experience in form of an internship.
Because my cousin who is an Australian citizen spoke highly about it and recommended it and I am extremely satisfied that I decided to study at Deakin.
The Course curriculum at Deakin is very flexible and enjoyable to study as the assignment and exam grades are divided evenly throughout the semester which helps divide ones stress and learn better. For commerce students there are a lot of practical based learning experiences and also a minor that allows you to have different experiences.
I have studied at University of Melbourne for a year and from there I have learned that even if the university is the best, it is not suitable for all. I shifted to Deakin because the teaching is more practical and students are not burdened under pressure of exams and hurdles. Deakin University works according to students and helps them through every step. I have got the opportunity to explore more when I was in Deakin University than in University of Melbourne. So , I would suggest if you are looking for practical based learning, Deakin is the best with a lot of minor/major options.
Really good because it covers all the basic science and physics in the first year, then moves into more subjects specific to optometry in the second year. the third year is structured really well as we get six months of placement.
Each of my subjects cost $1000 for the semester, but I can claim this on the federal governments HECS scheme, this means I don't have to pay for it until after I start earning $52000 per year, after which the student debt is taken out in tax. No interest applies. Also a student service and amenities fee of $150.
The commerce cores are good, it gave me an insight into what commerce major I wanted to do.
I think it's roughly $3k per unit but it all gets added under the debt.
So far the curriculum has been fantastic. It's interesting, specific to our future work and the lecturers are great at delivering the content. I highly value the problem based learning part of the curriculum as it allows time in small groups to ask questions and helps consolidate knowledge from all subjects in a practical way.
Fees are being delayed due to HECS-HELP. This means I can pay them off at an interest-free rate after the duration of my course. It comes out of my regular pay- deducted by the government.
