So far, the experience has been better than I expected and I believe I learn more in an environment like Deakin University which is helping me grow and adjust better.

I have studied at University of Melbourne for a year and from there I have learned that even if the university is the best, it is not suitable for all. I shifted to Deakin because the teaching is more practical and students are not burdened under pressure of exams and hurdles. Deakin University works according to students and helps them through every step. I have got the opportunity to explore more when I was in Deakin University than in University of Melbourne. So , I would suggest if you are looking for practical based learning, Deakin is the best with a lot of minor/major options.

Course Curriculum :

The Course curriculum at Deakin is very flexible and enjoyable to study as the assignment and exam grades are divided evenly throughout the semester which helps divide ones stress and learn better. For commerce students there are a lot of practical based learning experiences and also a minor that allows you to have different experiences.

Exams :

To get into the University, I was suppose to score a minimum of 7 for IELTS, I got 7 overall. For my course of Bachelor of commerce, Mathematics was a prerequisite subject that could be done in high school or give a test for it later in the process.

Placement :

The graduate program at Deakin University are the best. The university has units starting from Year 1 which help a student understand the working world better and gives the knowledge to obtain a placement.

Events :

I have not experienced any as of now but I have tried using the career coaching facility and that really helps a student who is future orientated understand the needs of the job market and how to get there. They help with each step and make sure we get the work done.

Scholarship :

No

Faculty :

For my subjects so far, there is one Unit chair and others are seminar leaders and assistants. The ratio is perfect as with a class of about 40 there are 2 faculty members(This was online). The faculty and staff is very understanding as well as approachable and helps every student throughout and makes sure that understand everything. I personally had a really great time learning ,even for online classes.

Hostel :

No, as of now i live in a private student accomodation called Atira and it is very engaging , a good location and a happy place to live. I live in a studio and pay $480 per week inclusive of all bills. Rent can be paid fortnightly or monthly in advance. This is an accomodation in the city and that is why it is on an upper end but accomodations near Deakin cost less.
