The core of the LL.M. program is real-world experience: the?professional experiences of international students, the externships of?concurrent students, and the broad professional expertise of the faculty in rule of law reform. ONU provides a unique learning experience. Featuring a?combination of rigorous academic instruction in specially designed courses, field experiences,?presentations by outside experts, and the shared stories of your colleagues, you will graduate from ONU ready to change the world.
The LLM program is offered to students at three phases of their professional life:
- Foreign lawyers from transitional states with experience in governance and law reform
- Students just entering law school who would like to gain both their JD and LL.M.in three years
- American lawyers seeking to complement or redirect their career with the LL.M. in Democratic Governance and Rule of Law
Careers
Most graduates of the ONU LL.M. program work in influential positions in national governments, international organizations and NGOs continuing their efforts to promote democracy and the rule of law around the world. While many students return to the organizations they left, LL.M. program staff members actively engage in counseling students on career options and preparation of professional r?sum?s, while also providing references and referrals to assist them in seeking new positions. This effort includes providing students with individual memberships in the premier international development job placement service which gives access to career opportunities around the world. The program staff continues to work with alumni and assist them with their career goals well after graduation.

Academic Requirements:
- Applicants should have completed bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Applicants should submit official transcripts of all previous coursework completed
- Official transcripts need to be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submit letters of recommendation
- Submit GRE/LSAT scores
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in ibt
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 105
- PTE: minimum 53
