The majors in the School of International Studies are designed to prepare students for careers in government, business, public service, law, journalism, education and other international professions. The core courses in the majors, which are co-taught by faculty from economics, politics, history, geography and anthropology, includes a four-course introductory sequence which explores issues of economic and cultural globalization, war and peace, the problems of the global environment and other factors that shape the world.?

We have recently added a Capstone course for seniors that synthesizes the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary core curriculum with the experiential learning of study abroad. All students are required to complete the University General Education requirements as well as their major requirements.
