The Stage Management program at Oklahoma University offers in-depth, rigorous training in both the classroom and the theatre in order to prepare students for graduate studies or work in the professional world. The program aims to develop individualized, creative artists with personal approaches to their work. The School of Drama creates a supportive and stimulating environment that allows each student to develop the confidence and flexibility necessary to meet the challenges of production.
All stage management students take Oklahoma University General Education Requirements, the School of Drama core, and a Stage Management track, consisting of Stage Management, Advanced Stage Management, Theatre Management, four semesters of Stage Management Studio and eight semesters of Stage Management Seminar. There is also flexibility in the curriculum's advised electives to focus a student's interests.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
