Admission Deadlines

International students willing to study in the US are requested to submit their applications prior to the deadlines for them to be considered for admission. The University does not entertain late applications. Here are the deadlines for the enrollment seasons:

International Student Admission Process

Southern Nazarene University accepts the application form of international students devoted to earn a bachelor’s degree/ master’s degree/ doctoral degree in a Christian Community. International students are required to submit all the necessary information before the semester.

Admission Requirements: 

  • Completed application form.
  • A copy of the SAT/ACT test scores is required if given. It isn't compulsory.
  • Official scores of IELTS, TOEFL are required.
  • Verification of Certificate of Finance needs to be submitted indicating how the student’s fee and living expenses will be incurred. The certificate should be signed by the Financial Sponsor.
  • An official transcript of secondary education and all the professions that the applicant has attended.
  • Statement of Understanding should be submitted by signing it.
  • A copy of the passport page for identification.
  • A financial statement of support indicating that the applicant can afford tuition fees and living expenses while enrolled in the college. This includes both the sponsor’s bank statement and the Certificate of Financial Resources signed by the financial sponsor. 
  • It is mandatory that all international students provide a copy of approved medical and accident insurance coverage to the Student Health Center prior to attending classes at SNU.

Visa Process for International Students

Students need to take a student visa to study in the US from the American Embassy located in their country.

  • The applicant must have the documents of financial solvency.
  • The applicant will get the mail of I-20, they are required to complete the D-160.
  • The interview date will be given for F-1 VISA, which is a student VISA.
  • The fee for the DS-60 is $160.
  • The applicants also have to pay the I-901 fee which is $200.
  • After completing the above process, the students will be issued an F-1 VISA.

Students who do not meet GPA requirements may earn provisional acceptance..International student fee of $200 to be paid to assist in processing international documents. Processing of I-20s can take about 2 weeks (on average) AFTER all necessary documentation has been received. Any fraudulent documentation submitted will result in immediate denial.

Ans. Yes, the university offers summer programs also for those students who don’t leave the campus all semester.

Ques. Is it necessary to complete the prerequisite courses?

Ans. Yes, the courses must be completed by the end of the Spring semester for admission. 

Ques. If I am enrolling myself again for the admission, Is it necessary to submit the transcript again?

Ans. yes, If you are enrolling yourself again then it is necessary to submit the transcript again, submit the application fee, and all the other required material.

Ques. What is the minimum GPA for the undergraduates to transfer students from the regional institute?

Ans. A minimum of 2.00 or above GPA is needed in the last semester to get the admission in the university. If the GPA is less than the requirement then the university won’t take the application into consideration.

Ques. Does the reinstatement after the academic suspension require readmission?

Ans. Yes, it requires the readmission from the office of academic affairs and also the completion of an academic recovery plan. A warning will be given for reinstatement to the student. 

Ques. Does the GRE is required for admission to this university?

Ans. GRE exam is not required for admission but other standardized exams are required for admission such as SAT/ACT/TOEFL/IELTS. Different examinations are required for different courses, you can check on the official website.

Overview

I decided to look at this college because it was a Nazarene school and the perfect distance away from my hometown in Kansas. I ended up choosing the school for the program I was in and for the equestrian team. I stayed because it was a well-rounded school with great people to help me on that path.
