Through?applied fieldwork opportunities, you will be prepared for professional work with athletes at various levels of sport participation and for doctoral programs in counseling or sport psychology. You'll also be able to hone your skills through the athletic counseling?Research Team,?comprised of students, faculty, and other interested individuals, which discusses all aspects of the research process

Many athletic counseling graduates become certified consultants, Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP).?With an additional year of study, students are able to complete the academic requirements necessary to become a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts.


Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Submit one official transcript from each college or university attended
  • Official transcripts must be evaluated by any member of the NACES
  • Submit essay about significant life experiences that have contributed for development of interest in this field
  • Submit updated resume that should include college activities, leadership experiences, work history, community involvement etc
  • Submit two letters of recommendation
  • Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum 550 in PBT; 213 in CBT; 80-90 in IBT
  • IELTS: minimum 7.0
  • PTE: minimum 53
  • MELAB: minimum 77
