Ph.D. (Science and Humanities) From IIIT Manipur, Imphal

• Linguistics MA in Linguistics with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.5. Mathematics MSc/MTech in Mathematics with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.5.
• Physics MSc/MTech in Physics/Applied Physics with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.5.
• OR BTech/BE in Engineering Physics with at least 70% marks or a CPI of 7.5

IIIT Manipur offers a full-time Ph.D program for a duration of 3 years. The program is offered in the following specializations:

1. MEMS
2. Chemical and Bio-sensors
3. Semiconductor Devices
4. VLSI
5. MEMS & SAW Devices for Biomedical Applications
6. RF Microwaves and Electromagnetics
7. Properties and applications of Magnetic alloys.

Eligibility:

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission into PhD Programme in Engineering is a Master’s degree in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks both in the Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering/Technology.

OR

Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission into PhD Programme in Basic Science and Humanities:-

MSc/MA/MTech in the relevant area with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.5 both in the Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees.

Selection Criteria: 

Candidates will be selected on the basis of a valid score in the entrance exam conducted by IIIT Manipur. GATE/NET examination/INSPIRE fellowship qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test. 

Research Assistantship: Research assistantship will be available to eligible students as per the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). 

Syllabus for the written test: 

The syllabus for the written test will be based on GATE/NET syllabus of the concerned discipline. 

Travel Allowance: The candidates called for the written test and interview will be reimbursed to and fro third-AC class railway fare by the shortest route from their place of residence to IIIT Manipur.
