RGPV Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have passed one of the following.
- Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Management, Computer Applications, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, and many more with 60% marks from any Recognized University.
- Candidates should have 4 Years Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Computer Applications, Nanotechnology, Robotics from any Recognized University.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories are given relaxation of 5% marks.
- Candidates appearing in the Final Semester of Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree can participate in RGPV Ph.D. Entrance Examination but they have to submit their Passing Grades or Certificates of Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree at the time of the Interview organized by RGPV for the Admission session of the relevant year.
RGPV Ph.D. Admission Guidelines
Admission to the Ph.D. program is done by the Ph.D. Entrance Examination conducted by RGPV followed by an Interview. Candidates who have successfully cleared the UGC-NET, GATE, and SLET need not appear for Ph.D. Entrance Test conducted by RGPV.
- Applicants can visit the official website of RGPV.
- They have to create a New User ID by filling up the required details and also with a valid password.
- The candidates will receive OTP for registration at the RGPV Admission portal at their registered mobile number mentioned at the time of the Signing-up of the portal.
- They have to fill OTP at the portal and their successful registration will be done.
- Now they should open the portal and download the application form and submit it by filling-up all the required information.
- Pay the Application Fee online for the Entrance Examination at RGPV.
- Attach the documents like Marksheet and Experience Certificates, Proposed Title and the Subject of Ph.D. Thesis (to be mentioned in the Application Form)., Letter of Granting Teaching Fellowship and Passed Out Score of UGC-NET, GATE, and SLET.

RGPV Ph.D. Course Details
The entire Ph. D. course is divided into 8 semesters. The first 2 Semesters are based on Elective Subjects study and research while 3-8 semesters are based on the completion and submission of a Ph.D. Synopsis or Thesis research work. Students possessing a Ph.D. with a Master’s Degree will get 12 credits while a Bachelor’s Degree will get 30 credits.

Once they have completed the course, they have to appear for the comprehensive examination followed by a written exam and oral test. The written test is based on the research work and study with open-ended questions and checks the students’ analytical thinking. The oral examination is based on research planning and conducting questions at the time of its start and answers given by the Ph.D. students in the written examination.

Ques. What is the process to complete the Ph.D. program at RGPV?
- Semester one shall comprise a course on research methodology which shall include quantitative methods and computer applications etc. and one of the electives suggested by supervisor/ co-supervisor.
- In the second semester, the candidate has to choose two electives with the consent of his/her allotted supervisor/co-supervisor. A review or survey of the published research in the relevant field shall be submitted to the supervisor/ co-supervisor for which supervisor/co-supervisor shall evaluate the review report.
