The annual fest Sparsh is conducted in February. The tech fest Mindbend is also conducted. Almost all the books are available in our hi-tech digital library. All the basic and necessary amenities are there in the classroom. Every year inter nit tournament happens here. NCC and NSS are also there. There are almost 25 clubs or student chapters.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel facilities are not that good. We have to adjust for food. The quality of food is not good. Only breakfast is good in our hostel coming to lunch and dinner it is very bad in quality. If there is any good item the quantity is less.

Hostel Facilities:

Our hostel rooms have all the facilities including WIFI, LAN, FAN, TABLE, CHAIR, and BED. The hostel mess in Nit Surat is really good and healthy, as Surat is known for its food. The mess has all kinds of food. Hostel costs about 80000 per year and the registration process will be after josaa or csab counseling.

I am a new student so I don't know about what fest are conducted in college. But enjoyed two fests Krishan Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi. The library is very in which I think related to our program ever book is available. The most important part is that there are sports activities that are very good and they properly focus on that. Students are also funded by charity.

Hostel Facilities:

hostel mess food is quite good and the first-year hostel is not so maintained but the rules for the first-year student are more, sometimes it feels like we are living in jail. The hostel fee for 1 semester is 37300 so for 1 year is 746000 and for seniors, the hostels are quite good as compared to the first-year students.

SVNIT: 2 Answered Questions

How is the hostel food at SVNIT?

Sumant KumarGraduated in B.Tech, Chemical engineering from SVNIT, 2015

According to my friends at SVNIT, hostel food is extremely monotonous. It is mostly comprised of Gujarati dishes, which are not liked by them. The points below are some of the key highlights of the hostel mess food at SVNIT.

  • The messes in SVNIT are operated by different private contractors and so, the quality of food varies with different hostels.
  • The contractors use their tricks as far as possible to make maximum profits, degrading the quality of food.
  • There is a very limited choice of meals in SVNIT and students have to eat what is served to them.
  • Being in Gujarat, there are very few non-veg meals.
  • Every alternate Sunday is an off day for the hostel mess and students can go to restaurants or eat street food.
  • Outside the campus, there is a lot of variety in food.
  • Seniors are the best people to ask for good food destinations.

The quality of mess food in the hostels of SVNIT is quite evident from the above points, which is average in quality and not satisfactory to most students.
