DU Cutoff 2023 for all UG and PG programs will be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Registrations for CUET UG 2023 have been reopened and the last date to submit the application form is April 11, 2023. CUET UG 2023 exam will be conducted between May 21 to May 31, 2023. CUET PG 2023 applications are open and the last date to apply is April 19. CUET PG 2023 exam will be held from June 1 to June 10, 2023

Delhi University started taking admissions to UG courses through CUET from the academic year 2022-23, while PG admissions were based on the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET). Delhi University has now made CUET mandatory for all PG programs from the academic year 2023-24. For UG admissions CUET UG scores will be considered and PG admissions will be based on CUET PG scores. Candidates seeking admission must appear for the respective examinations. Candidates who qualify the entrance examination will then be required to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation. The seat allocation is done through the CSAS portal in multiple rounds. Seat allocation is based on multiple factors such as - the combination of college and program chosen, the position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats. Check DU Admission 2023

Delhi University Counselling 2023

Delhi University has introduced the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for admission to UG courses for all its affiliated colleges. The entire process is explained below:

Phase 1: CSAS 2023 Application Form

  • Aspirants are required to fill the CSAS 2023 application form on the centralized admission portal by paying a one-time non-refundable application fee.
  • ECA and sports quota candidates will have to pay an additional fee.

Phase 2: Selection of Courses and College Preferences

  • Second phase will start after the results of the CUET UG examination are declared.
  • After the CUET UG 2023 Result declaration, eligible candidates will have to select the courses and fill the preference of desired colleges on the centralised CSAS portal.

Phase 3: Seat Allocation and Final Admission

  • Merit list will be declared on the basis of CUET UG scores.
  • Multiple rounds of seat allotment will be conducted.
  • Candidates will have to check if they have been allotted a seat on the CSAS dashboard. If allotted, candidates must accept their seat on or before the given date for that particular round.
  • Seat allocation will be based on multiple factors such as - combination of college and program chosen, position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.
  • Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the payment of fee.

How Can I Get Admission to Delhi University?

Delhi University is conducting admission to UG courses in all the affiliated colleges through Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Earlier, candidates used to get admission as per the cutoff list released by the university on the basis of 12th marks and only top scoring students were able to get admission. This year, the admission process has completely changed, candidates who have completed class 12th are required to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Not only top-scoring candidates but those who have scored as minimum as 45% marks in the class 12th can appear for the CUET exam. The final selection will be done through the cutoff list released by the university on the basis of CUET scores. Check CUET Exam Pattern

Delhi University CUET Merit List 2023

CUET merit list will be based on the combined marks obtained in the language and subject section of the CUET. The merit list mentions the list of candidates eligible for counseling based on cut-off marks and rank. Shortlisted candidates in CUET 2023 merit list for the different programs must register for the counseling process conducted by Delhi university.

Can I Get Admission into DU with 52% Marks?

In 2023, getting admission into DU with 52% marks is difficult but not impossible as compared to previous years. To get admission into Delhi University, aspiring students are required to appear for the CUET examination, conducted by NTA. Candidates who have scored as low as 45% marks in class 12th are eligible to appear for the exam. Thus, appearing for the examination does not guarantee admission to Delhi University. Candidates will be further required to register for the counselling process conducted by the university. Seat allocation will be based on multiple factors such as - combination of college and program chosen, position of the candidate on the CUET merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.

Delhi University: 7 Answered Questions

What is the CW category cutoff in the Delhi University? I have not seen the CW list published in the DU UG lists.

Utsav KamraStudied B.Sc from University of Delhi

The DU information Bulletin makes little mention of the procedure/selection under the CW category. Because there is no separate cut-off for this category, it is impossible to know whether one is eligible for the first, second, or third cut-off, and so on.

PROCEDURE:

  1. Report on time for your priority category in the central conference hall near the Department of Botany on North Campus. Keep in mind that no documents are required for the CW category, but you should have an education concession certificate in the same format as described in DU information Bulletin, and the letterhead should include your complete address and contact information so that they can verify your certification. In addition, you should bring the PPO, DISCHARGE BOOK/SERVICE BOOK, and all other related documents in both original and self-attested copies.

  2. If you have all of the required documents, they will give you a form to fill out with your information and preferences for colleges and courses in priority order.

  3. You will receive an admission provisional slip addressed to the college's principal, most likely from the Administrative Block/Conference Hall, with your name on it.

  4. When you receive the provisional admission slip, you have completed 80% of the process. After receiving your provisional slip, report to your assigned college with all of your documents in original and one set of self-attested copies. However, before enrolling in college, you must apply through the DU website student Dashboard. Take a printout of the same under the link that is still active.

  5. Once the college has approved your admission, pay the fee immediately. There is no need to postpone the process to secure your admission.

What is the minimum cutoff for admission in Delhi University?

Sugandhi Sood
Sonia Kashyapstudied M.A in English from Hindu College, University of Delhi (2021)

The cut-off depends on your choice of course and college. It varies every year and it can be as high as 99% and as low as 40%.

To give you a rough idea of DU Cut off, you require at least 94% marks for admission to science subjects. For commerce stream courses like B.Com, you must have scored 94% in the top 4 subjects including a language.

On the other hand, the cut-off for Humanities subjects must be between 90-92%. If you are interested in doing Hindi (Hons) or Sanskrit (Hons), the cut-off is very low for these programs. You can easily get a seat at St.Stephens with 66% marks in Sanskrit (Hons).

For South Campus, you can reduce 2-3% from the ones mentioned above. Take a look at the previous year’s DU cut-off for better understanding.
