3.1 How to Apply?
The candidates applying for admission to the B.El.Ed. program at Delhi University must have the following educational qualifications obtained from any of the recognized board/institutions:
Candidates applying for B.El.Ed admission at Delhi University must clear the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG). Those who qualify the entrance examination will be required to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation. The admission process includes three phases, in the first phase aspirants are required to fill the CSAS portal by visiting the official website – ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Phase 2 includes filling out programs and college preferences and seat allotment will be done in the third phase. The university will be conducting multiple rounds of seat allocation based on the colleges and programs combination filled by students. Selected candidates then can choose to accept/freeze or upgrade their seats by the given date. Upon acceptance of a seat, the respective college will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the fee payment.

The University of Delhi offers a full-time four-year B.El.Ed. program keeping in with
NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) norms. B.El.Ed. is considered as a professional program for the study of Elementary Teacher Education. The course is offered in eight colleges of DU. The program aims to develop in-depth knowledge and specialization in education.
Theory Courses: A student needs to study 19 theory courses throughout the duration of the course that includes study through projects and related fieldwork.

Ques. Is B.El.Ed offered only in women colleges of Delhi University?
Ans. Yes, Delhi University offers B.El.Ed only in eight of its women colleges. The DU colleges that offer B.El.Ed are Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Gargi College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, Institute of Home Economics, Mata Sundri College for Women, Jesus and Mary College, and Miranda House College. Each college has a total intake of 63 students, except for Jesus and Mary College whose seat intake is 50 and Mata Sundri College for Women whose total seats are 54.
Ques. What is the basis of selection for B.El.Ed at Delhi University?
Ans. Since merit is based on the CUET scores of the candidates, a valid score in CUET forms the basis of selection for B.El.Ed at Delhi University. Selection to this programme in Delhi University is done according to the merit-list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in CUET. Moreover, no admission is allowed on the basis of sports or ECA quota. Even the candidates who are seeking admission under minority category will have to appear for CUET mandatorily.

Ans. B.El.Ed is a full-time degree course offered at Delhi University with a duration of four years. The course is offered only to female candidates. Fee for B.El.Ed at different affiliated colleges of Delhi University ranges between INR 33,000 - INR 78,000. Female candidates who have passed 10+2 with minimum marks of 50% are eligible for the course.

Ans. The Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University offers a four-years undergraduate B.El.Ed programme with a total intake of 72 students. Ques. What is the assessment and evaluation system for Delhi University B.El.Ed?
Ans. The assessment for each course of Delhi University B.El.Ed that a student undergoes is done in two ways- Annual examination and Internal assessment. For theory courses, 30% weightage is given to internal assessment. Practicum courses are assessed internally. The student needs to score at least 40% in each theory paper, 45% in the written paper plus internal assessment, 50% in all practicum courses taken together, and 50% in the overall aggregate for each year.

Ans. Every college offering Delhi University B.El.Ed has reservations for SC (9 seats), ST (5 seats), OBC (17 seats), and EWS (7 seats) except Jesus and Mary College and Mata Sundri College for Women. However, there are no reservations under the Sports, ECA, and NSS/NCC categories.
