When it comes to choosing between NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Raipur, and NIT Durgapur, it's important to consider various factors, including placements, reputation, and career prospects. While each of these institutions has its own strengths and weaknesses, you need to determine which one aligns with your goals and interests.

1. Placements: One of the main reasons for pursuing an engineering degree is to secure a good job after graduation. NIT Jamshedpur has a slight edge over NIT Raipur and NIT Durgapur when it comes to placements. However, it's important to note that your skills and performance during the recruitment process will ultimately determine your chances of getting a job.
2. Reputation: The reputation of an institute is built over the years by its alumni base. NIT Raipur's CSE program is relatively new, so it may take some time to establish a solid reputation. On the other hand, NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Durgapur have been around for several decades and have a proven track record of producing successful engineers.
3. Skills and Learning: While choosing an institute with a good placement record is important, it's equally important to focus on developing your skills and enthusiasm to learn and compete. The IT industry demands only skills, and it's up to you to put in the effort to become a competent engineer. Additionally, it's worth noting that while brand names like IIT may give you a slight edge over NIT in the job market, ultimately, your skills and experience will matter more.

In conclusion, choosing between NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Raipur, and NIT Durgapur requires careful consideration of various factors. While NIT Jamshedpur may have a slight edge in terms of placements, it's important to focus on developing your skills and enthusiasm for learning and competing. Ultimately, your hard work and dedication will be the key to building a successful career in the IT industry.

You should definitely study CSE at NIT Raipur.

NIT Raipur will make three things happen in your life:

1. NIT Tag

2. A job at the end of four years to begin your career (90-95% of people will get a job).

3. Access to a large alumni network (your current seniors at NIT Raipur will be excellent guides).

Now, let's talk about NIT Raipur CSE Department. In terms of faculty, you can expect Ph.D. faculty to teach the core courses. They will ensure that your concepts are correct.

Furthermore, NIT Raipur has the authority to set and change the curriculum in response to industry demands. The highest package recorded during NIT Raipur placements in 2022 was INR 2 crore per annum. Facebook provided the most generous package.

However, at NIT Raipur, some of the highest-paying companies have begun to visit the campus, making it an appealing option for B.Tech students.

Remember that the compensation package you will receive at the end of four years will be a reflection of your hard work. NIT Raipur will only offer the chance to sit for those companies.

According to a senior of mine who has graduated from NIT Raipur, the institute is better than most top colleges in Bangalore including VIT institutes.

Despite having a soft spot for NIT Raipur, she does not discourage candidates from trying their luck at any other university, including VITs. She, however, suggests that they should get acquainted for measuring progress after completion of the undergraduate degree.

Campus:

• VIT campus is definitely better than the NIT Raipur campus. Although the NIT Raipur has been considerably renovated. 
• The VIT campus will cost around 2 lakhs per year which includes hostel fees as well. Education at NIT Raipur will cost around 0.5 lakhs.

Course:

• The course of VIT will not have any effect on your CSE placement. 
• On the other hand, your coding skills and DS+Algo will have a part to play in your placement. Either way, the effort is required regardless of how much you pay.

Placements:

• By the time you graduate, if you choose NIT Raipur, that is, the institute will pretty much be holding its own among other giants. My senior said two of her batchmates landed a 75 LPA package without paying hefty college fees.
• VIT, being a private college, is known to boost their placement records. In addition to that, they have a management quota as well which goes on to say that not all the best minds will be found there.
• A friend of my seniors had a good rank and went to VIT. He got chosen in three companies. VIT attracts employers in large numbers but they offer packages of only around 3-3.5 LPA.

In the case of NIT Raipur, almost every candidate will get at least one job, in recent years many also bagged two jobs. The ones who have, get a package of 4-8 LPA for the first job, and a package of as much as 16-17 LPA for the second job. Candidates who do not get a second job also land a job with a package of 4-8 LPA. 

Overall, it is safe to say that CSE from NIT Raipur will be a good option.

The choice of the branch is more important than choosing the institute because it determines and shapes your career. If you are interested in working in a PSU or have an interest in Electronics, choose ECE but if you have no such inclinations choose CS, the most diverse field. There are two main differences between IIITs and NITs

• IIITs are relatively new and may not have a very extensive alumni network while NITs are aged old and have an elaborate network.
• NITs provide diverse specialization in various fields while IIITs only focus on Computer Science education. 

Based on the placement scenario and the academics, here is the preference order I would suggest you follow while making your choice

NIT Jalandhar CSE>IIIT Jabalpur CSE>NIT Raipur CSE>NIT Kurukshetra ECE>NIT Hamirpur ECE> NIT Jamshedpur ECE
