What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at CSVTU?

Satyam Purwar
Bhavna Singh,B.E.(comp science engg.) from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2019)

One of my friends recently graduated from CSVTU. According to him if you abide by certain rules your college life will be easier.

  • The most important thing to become an engineer is to choose whether you will go for a job or higher studies, then prepare accordingly.
  • Start preparing for GATE/CAT/XMAT examinations from your second year of engineering and try not to have a backlog in any engineering exams.
  • You need to understand that the marks and university do not make much impact. It is your profile and skills that matter.
  • To attend all the college functions, sports events, etc. This will help in your holistic development.
  • Do study from textbooks as per syllabus, and practice questions.
  • Solve previous year’s university questions. Try doing a proper revision before any exam.
  • Instead of mugging up theories, learn and understand the concept thoroughly.

Overall, try enjoying your college life as this is a major place where you can grow and create your individuality. Along with academics try to be also enthusiastic about extracurriculars as they will be beneficial as well.

Does passing by grace in a BE exam twice from a CSVTU university have any impact on the job during placements?

Sakshi Gupta
Vaibhab Srivastav,Bachelor in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2018)

This depends on the companies, as they have their own criteria for shortlisting candidates on the basis of their academics.

Most of the companies set criteria around 60% throughout in B.E without any backlog. Many companies will set criteria on your 10th and 12th marks, such as 70% above in 10th and 65% above in 12th. These criteria may change according to the company you are applying for.

Having grace in a subject means that you have cleared the subject and the semester. You will be eligible to sit for most of the companies. This is true for almost every company that chooses to do recruitment from CSVTU. Your grace in subject will not have any impact on placements.

How do I get transcripts from CSVTU ?

Tanish GuptaStudied B.E. at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2015)

The transcript process of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) can be completed easily if you do it patiently. You will require the following documents:

  • Marksheet of all semester
  • Degree or Passing Certificate
  • WES or IQAS Form
  • Aadhar Card or Passport.

It takes approximately 2 weeks to complete the entire Transcript process. The cost of one set of transcripts is INR 800 in CSVTU. You have to visit the university offline for the whole process as there is no online service.

Most importantly, CSVTU does not have a provision of sending the documents and you have to collect them personally. Keep a duplicate copy of the receipt with you for future reference.

Also, note that the campus does not have a printing facility and the distance is quite too much. It is advisable to make arrangements accordingly.

How is the answer paper checking in CSVTU?

Satyam Purwar
Dheeraj Sinha,B.E Mechatronics, Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2016)

One of my friends studied at CSVTU. According to him, there are various kinds of people who check answer sheets.

It might be a new M.Tech graduate student. An experienced professor, who could have 20–30 years of experience in education. So, definitely, you can predict the difference in marks for the same answer sheet. And, that is the reason why similar answer sheets of students get good marks while others don’t.

  • Sometimes passing the exam depends on the subject, your preparation, etc.
  • Theory questions are easy to get good marks, just keep your answers and diagrams neat. These papers are mostly given to experienced faculty members for checking.
  • The faculties sometimes get less time to check your answer in regular exams. This is due to the abundance of answer sheets, but not enough compensation.

This is different in this case. In backlog exams, they get time to read your answers properly because of less number of sheets to check. That sometimes is checked strictly. Thus checking papers could sometimes be done lightly or sometimes harshly.

Aniket ChaubeyStudies Civil Engineering at CSVTU,Chhattisgarh 2022

During the end semesters, the stress is usually very low at CSVTU. If your preparation is equally good, then acing the exam is not difficult. Students generally prepare for the exams within only a month.

It is completely upon you about what you want to do later during the weekend. You can either think of doing fun or continue your studies to ace the exams later. But, it is suggested to go for studying, if you are from either of the core branches. You can prepare for exams like GATE, SSC, railways, or relevant important sectors.

This is because, during the weekends, you can actively brush up on your General Knowledge, usually higher than the normal days. However, if you belong to the CSE or IT branch, you can join any online course to help you retain benefits in the long run.

What are interesting facts about the CSVTU BE semester exam?

Satyam Purwar
Manisha Singh,B.E. from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2016)

One of my friends studied at CSVTU. According to him, here are the most interesting facts you should know about the college.

If you are expecting 70 marks out of 80 in your final semester, you will be disappointed as you will get average marks like 40-50. This negligence in proper checking reduces the marks, and everybody scores an average mark.

Do not leave any question unanswered, as attempting it might fetch you 2-3 marks. It is said that the theory papers are scored by only checking the length of the answer.
