Admission to PEC is determined by JEE Mains scores, managed by JOSAA. Fees include a tuition charge of 65,250 INR per semester, with annual increases. Hostel fees are 64,100 INR, also increasing yearly, and mess fees range from 1,700 to 3,000 INR. Although many consider these fees high, PEC offers substantial placement opportunities, particularly in non-core branches like CSE and ECE, where top packages reach 42-45 LPA, averaging 10 LPA.
Core branches like aerospace have fewer placements, with an average package of 6 LPA and one-third of students placed. Notable recruiters include Microsoft, JP Morgan, and Amazon, offering roles in various domains. Internships are available in the 6th semester, with stipends up to 60,000 INR. Students must complete projects in their 3rd and 4th years. Scholarships are provided: economically disadvantaged students receive full waivers, SC/ST students get half waivers, and branch toppers, as well as top-performing girls, are awarded scholarships covering full fees for the subsequent year.
During the pandemic, financial aid was provided through alumni and student efforts. Currently, the semester fee is 62,000 INR, with a hostel fee of 45,000 INR per year and a 2,000 INR monthly mess bill. Scholarships are granted based on academic performance and need, with reduced fees for students scoring above 90% in their 12th-grade exams.
