Metallurgy at NIT Rourkela: Campus-wise, the college has a very large campus. But, if you are planning to pursue metallurgy, let me tell you that you will have lesser job opportunities in both the public and private sectors in India. You might have to shift to another country to get a well-paying job and earn decently in your field of study. Electrical at NIT Silchar: There are also some really good facilities here including the largest digital library in South Asia. The campus is really good too. The placement records are amazing. Moreover, electrical is an evergreen branch with decent scope in the public sector. This would surely make a good alternative. Aspirants seeking admission to 4 year Full-time B.Tech Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement:

Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent by the AIU or Intermediate or 2-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognized Board/ University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects with 75% marks (65% marks for reserved category).

Entrance Exam:

Candidates must qualify for JEE Mains.
