College is all about fun

Remarks :

To get admission to IIT(ISM)Dhanbad like every other IIT, you have to qualify JEE Advanced entrance exam after successfully qualifying Jee Mains exam with the required cutoff for your interested branch. You can find applications for the same on collegedunia website or the official jee advanced website, the fee generally for the exam is around 2.5k. Under various reservations, candidates get different benefits according to the reservation and relaxation in cutoff ranks and fees of the institute.

Course Curriculum Overview :

From my 12th standard I had a deep interest in electromagnetics that's why I chose to be an electrical engineer. Students here are very studious. All professors are P.hd. and the way of communication in classes is only english. There are regular midsem and end-sem exams along with quizzes.

Internships Opportunities :

I myself has not done any internship but a lot of my seniors are an intern in nice companies like microsoft, sprinkler, amazon, zomato etc. They offer a decent package to college students and students are hired after long interviews and coding rounds which are definitely not easy to clear.

Placement Experience :

In the 7th semester generally, placement interviews are held students get hired by quite a decent number of good companies. The average package can be estimated as 25 Lkahs/Annum. intern interviews and tests were also held around 55o students were good interns last year which is a huge number.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure here is a little bit more relaxing over other private institutes, still, it is not that easy for some people to pay, for sc/st students a full fee waiver is being provided by the institute and for economically weaker sections also various fee waiver plans have been introduced.

Campus Life :

ISM organizes cultural fest SRIAN technical fest CONCETTO and sports fest PRAKARAM every year at their due time. Other than that competitions and meetings of various cultural technical and sports clubs are held regularly. Central library is 2nd biggest library in Asia and one can issue books according to their convenience.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are very neat and clean and are managed properly by hostel authorities. Lifts are being provided as large number of floors cant be simply walked by legs. Meals are little bit disturbing poor quality of food is being provided.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering being a circuital branch has a wide range of possibilities ahead. It can also be considered as evergreen branch whose demand is atleast not going to end soon. Faculty here are PhD professionals but some might not like the teaching methodologies as it is quite different from the regular schooling/coaching methodologies. Term exams are strictly followed and on basis of regular intervals to check learning process. It is pretty easy to pass the exams if someone only pays attention in class or refer to notes by professors.

The faculty are here so much more friendly. Some of them try to act like a professor but they are not. Some of the professors are very good and even they take the time to solve our doubts in their cabin. They support students in every aspect. They are good in every aspect. We have two teachers for physics and one for CSE.
