Navigating Academic Excellence: My Journey at IIT ISM Dhanbad

Remarks :

The admission process at IIT ISM Dhanbad via JEE ADVANCED is notably competitive. After successfully clearing the JEE ADVANCED exam, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process becomes pivotal. During JoSAA counseling, students have the opportunity to select their preferred courses and institutes based on their JEE ADVANCED rank. This process is carried out online, providing flexibility and convenience for applicants. Eligibility for courses typically entails clearing both the JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED exams, although specific eligibility criteria may vary depending on the course in question. As such, it's imperative to refer to the official IIT ISM Dhanbad and JoSAA websites for precise and up-to-date information regarding eligibility requirements. To initiate the application process for IIT ISM Dhanbad through JEE ADVANCED, candidates must complete the application form during the JEE MAINS registration phase. Detailed

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course as this is the best option I got in JoSAA counseling. Computer Science and Engineering is my first choice. So I got it here. Faculty are all aptly qualified and some even go further in pursuing research and winning awards at the international level. Exams were like, well, more knowledge-based than memory based same way as the other IITs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are financial aid and scholarships available for those with eligibility like income less than 500000. But, if you are ineligible, then it approximately costs 1000000. And it would be really helpful if you take an educational loan. There will be many banks waiting for you here on the admission date.

Campus Life :

There will be many fests like Srijan, Concetto, Khanan, Parakram, which offer a cool IIT experience. Classrooms are Okish (non-AC). Sports and extracurricular activities play an important role here and many amenities will be provided.

Hostel Facilities :

Coming from the South, the hostel food (mainly the curries) is a bit disappointing, rice will be provided along with rotis, and hostel rooms are okay (2 people per room). Registration for a hostel is also somewhat standing-in-queue type and no online registration.

I chose computer science engineering because I always had an interest in it. The faculty-student ratio is quite good here. It is approximately 1:14. All the teachers here are PhD graduates and the teaching method is quite good too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering being a circuital branch has a wide range of possibilities ahead. It can also be considered as evergreen branch whose demand is atleast not going to end soon. Faculty here are PhD professionals but some might not like the teaching methodologies as it is quite different from the regular schooling/coaching methodologies. Term exams are strictly followed and on basis of regular intervals to check learning process. It is pretty easy to pass the exams if someone only pays attention in class or refer to notes by professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty are here so much more friendly. Some of them try to act like a professor but they are not. Some of the professors are very good and even they take the time to solve our doubts in their cabin. They support students in every aspect. They are good in every aspect. We have two teachers for physics and one for CSE.
