NIT Delhi is not a well-established Institute yet and lacks the resources and infrastructure necessary for quality education. The college lacks a permanent campus.
Research at no level is encouraged here and there is no space for innovation due to the nonavailability of funds. However, it has a certain edge in terms of locations, so it’s expected to rise as a very promising institute in the future.
Lastly, you need to consider the fact that joining NIT Delhi will not only give you the NIT tag but also give you easy access to coaching.
Although many might not agree, I think ECE is much better than electrical engineering. People tend to choose IID mainly because of the brand name that comes attached to it. If the tag was to be negated, then by all terms IIT Roorkee is better than IIT Delhi’s Electrical Engineering.
Moreover, I feel Electrical has too much workload both in IIT Delhi as well as Roorkee. This does not save you time for extracurricular activities.
Delhi is one of the most polluted cities in India and does affect the overall educational experience of the students. Although my personal suggestion is to opt for IIT Roorkee ECE, it’s better to talk to students from both institutes and branches.
Electronics and Electrical in the first year is pretty challenging and many students face problems in getting good marks in these subjects. The passing marks for this subject are 40 out of 100. Now, 30 marks are in the hands of your teachers. Usually, teachers don’t give less than 20. So out of 100, you get 20 grace marks and in order to pass you need to score another 20.
These 20 marks can easily be scored by practicing and solving the sums of the various laws of the first chapter of electrical. The first chapter is extremely important and carries many marks. So understand it thoroughly with the help of YouTube videos, notes, and other sources.
Adopt a positive mindset and study. Keep jotting down important points. The best and easiest way is to learn the organizer thoroughly.
NIT Calicut is the better possibility because of its efficient academics, infrastructure, and placement backing. Let us have a brief look at both institutes.
EEE at NIT Calicut
ECE at NIT Durgapur
In defiance of this, the top students opt for EEE at NITs over ECE. So, you can go with the choice of EEE at NIT for an upright career
The Panimalar Engineering College in Chennai is affiliated under Anna University and approved by AICTE and is is ranked 201 for BTech by NIRF 2020.The college has a faculty strength of 3500 members. EEE is a 4 year full time BTech course which deals with the applications of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.
The program includes designing electrical circuits and equipment, manufacturing and operating power plants, industrial machinery, electrical motors, computer chips and ignition systems of all kinds of engines.

An EEE graduate can work as a power engineer, telecommunication engineer, control and instrumentation engineer, broadcast engineer, design engineer, consultant, electrical engineer, electronics engineer, nuclear engineer and system analyst.
If you are given these options, your rank in JEE Mains must be near 10k, and that in KCET >= 100. I was faced with similar choices, so I am listing down the pros and cons of each option-
If you are planning for an M.Tech in near future, choose IIITB. The iMtech will allow you to complete two degrees in five years, and you won’t be stressed over GATE exams. IIIT Bangalore offers the best placements. This is because Bangalore is the center of major IT and Electronics brands.
I chose iMtech at IIIT Bangalore because of these reasons. You must choose the option that best suits your personal preferences. All the three institutions are well renowned.
Nowadays, PSUs have started considering GATE ranks, internal exams, and interviews, so the chances of getting placed in the core sector through campus placements are very meager. Only a handful of core companies such as Tata Power, L&T, GE Healthcare, etc. come for recruitment.
If you are planning to get into the Power Sector, you will have to prepare for the competitive exams. But if your goal is to just get placed even if it’s an IT company, then as long as you have a decent GPA and basic coding skills, you are likely to grab a good offer. That being said, one must consider bigger criteria when choosing college rather than just placements. In 2021 NIT Delhi EEE average package was recorded at INR 8.1 LPA.
So, you don’t have to worry about placements at all as long as you are committed to hard work
In comparison to MNNIT, MANIT and other colleges with similar cutoffs, VNIT Nagpur is better for B.Tech Electrical.
The Electrical faculty of VNIT consists of highly experienced teachers. The course curriculum is well defined, and contains one Electronics subject for every semester. The department labs are well equipped for use.
The department records good placements, and brands like Siemens, Reliance, Bajaj, Pepsico, SunPharma, etc. visit for recruiting B.Tech EEE students. Sometimes, PSUs also visit the department for placements.Core companies offer around 6 LPA and PSUs offer around 17 LPA (including allowances) to B.Tech EEEstudents. Many IT companies visiting the campus are open for EEE students.
The campus life and college environment are good, and various events take place throughout the year. There are numerous clubs on campus.
Thus, VNIT Nagpur is a good option for B.Tech EEE.
Both IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur are well-renowned institutions for electrical engineering studies. It all depends on personal preferences and priorities. Some students may prefer the academic focus of IIT Roorkee, while others may prefer the research opportunities at IIT Kharagpur. Both institutes have equally good labs and research facilities. However, IIT KGP being the oldest has a slight advantage over IIT Roorkee.
All these points prove that IIT KGP is a better option than IIT Roorkee for EE.
KLE Technological University has a great EEE branch. The professors are well-experienced and cooperative. You can get help from them regarding any academic problem. They help students with external projects as well.
The initial placement opportunities for EEE are fewer, which is the case for all core branches. KLE Technological University placement highlights show that around 70% of students get placed from EEE each year. The salary packages offered for EEE are in the range of INR 3 - 12 LPA.
