When it comes to IIIT Allahabad, there are a few things that you should know before making a decision: You should choose for CSE IIIT Allahabad over VIT.

Firstly, the institution is commonly referred to as IIIT A, despite there being no difference between IIIT and IT. Contrary to popular belief, there is no significant difference between CSE and IT, as the course structure at IIIT A is top-notch and highly regarded in India. You can refer to websites such as Quora to get an idea about the placement statistics and course structure ranking in BRICS, or to clarify any doubts you may have.
However, it is important to note that if you are interested in exploring other fields of engineering, you may not receive much exposure at IIIT A. The primary courses offered here are IT and ECE.
On the other hand, if you are passionate about coding and aspire to achieve something big in the field of computers, IIIT A is an excellent choice. The institute has a range of technical societies, such as the Competitive Coding Wing, Web Development Wing, FOSS Wing for open source software development, Graphics Wing, Networking Wing, and App Development Wing, among others. These societies provide exposure to all aspects of computer science that you may not find in many other engineering colleges.
When it comes to VIT, it is important to note that you may not be able to expect top-notch faculty, as the institution is run by a private organization that does not have to provide feedback to anyone about the people they bring in to teach. This is in contrast to IIIT A, which is a government-funded institution and therefore employs top-notch faculty (although not necessarily the best in India). Additionally, there is an entrance exam, but there is no proper cutoff, and students of all kinds are admitted.
If you are a female student, it is important to consider the safety and security measures in place at VIT, as it may be a concern.
In terms of exposure to the "coding culture" and other similar things, IIIT Allahabad is a better choice.
Finally, it is worth noting that there are students at IIIT A who have qualified by category ranks that may differ by 10,000. While this is not a significant proportion, it is worth considering if you are concerned about reservations.

IIIT Allahabad is way ahead of VIT when it comes to CSE. It has no separate branch namely CSE as such and is called IT instead. However, the course structure is the same as that of the CSE. IT and ECE are the two branches that are given the main priority at IIIT-A so if you are thinking of getting exposure to other branches, you must reconsider opting IIIT Allahabad.

If you are completely dedicated to coding, IIIT-A is a perfect place for you. They have various popular technical clubs like the Competitive coding wing, Web development wing, Networking wing, App development wing. You will receive perfect ambiance for study and most of the professors have got their PhDs from IITs. The placement statistics of IIIT-A IT department are top-notch and speaks for themselves.

VIT, on the other hand, is run by a private organization and faculties are not up to the expectation while IIIT-A is funded by MHRD. Even though there is an entrance exam, it is more for the namesake. By paying a high amount of donations anyone can get admission to the institute. Security for ladies is a bit of concern too.

Ultimately, IIIT-A is the best option among the two for IT (CSE). IIIT Allahabad's coding culture is something worth mentioning which plays a pivotal role in their successful placement record. So IT is the most popular branch at IIIT-A among young aspirants. Think no more than IIIT-A if the choice is between IIIT-A and Vellore institute of technology.
